We are now looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Data team, playing a key role in unlocking value through data-driven decision making and supporting complex, business-critical initiatives. 

 

You’ll be joining a domain that operates at the intersection of business change and technology delivery, responsible for translating complex business needs into clear, testable, technically precise requirements. 

The role plays a key part in enabling high-quality solution design, working closely with engineering, architecture, QA, and platform teams, while ensuring business outcomes, regulatory requirements, and customer impacts are fully understood and traceable. 
 

The internal customer you support is central to driving profitable growth, while protecting both customers and the business through strong risk management and data-led decision making across areas such as pricing and affordability. They operate within a regulated environment, requiring robust and auditable decisioning. 
You’ll be part of a scrum team delivering changes that are often interdependent, meaning collaboration across multiple systems and teams is essential to unlock full business value. 

 

What you will do 

  • Translate complex business needs into clear, structured, and testable requirements 

  • Work closely with developers, architects, and QA to ensure solutions are feasible and well understood 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technical solutions are clearly communicated back in business terms 

  • Support end-to-end traceability from business objectives → technical solutions → test validation 

  • Analyse and document data flows, APIs, integrations, and service interactions 

  • Contribute to solution design by understanding architecture diagrams and technical intent 

  • Ensure solutions consider resilience, scale, performance, and regulatory compliance 

 

Collaboration 

You will work closely with: 

  • Business stakeholders to translate needs into actionable requirements and play back solutions clearly 

  • Developers & technical leads to validate feasibility and clarify delivery detail 

  • Solution Architects to support and challenge design decisions 

  • QA teams to ensure requirements support effective testing 

 

What we are looking for 

  • Strong experience in translating business requirements into technical deliverables 

  • Ability to manage complex, competing stakeholder needs 

  • A naturally curious and analytical mindset, focused on understanding root cause 

  • Excellent communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences 

  • Proven experience documenting complex processes, integrations, and system behaviour 

  • Comfortable working across multiple systems, data flows, and integration points 

  • Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments 

 

Technical & Domain Experience 
 

Essential: 

  • APIs, integrations, and data services 

  • Microservices and distributed systems 

  • Data flow analysis and traceability 

  • Working with technical teams on solution delivery 

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with the Guidewire ecosystem 

  • Exposure to event-driven or service-oriented architectures 

 

Core Technical Understanding 
 

API & Integration Skills 

  • Understanding API structures (requests, responses, payloads, error handling) 

  • Ability to interpret JSON payloads 

  • Awareness of service dependencies and data flows 

Microservices & Architecture 

  • Understanding service boundaries and responsibilities 

  • Awareness of orchestration vs delegation patterns 

  • Considering downstream impacts across systems 

Data & Journey Understanding 

  • Data persistence vs transient enrichment 

  • Tracking how data evolves across journeys 

  • Understanding phase-based behaviour (e.g. Quote, Renewal) 

Non-Functional Thinking 

  • Error handling and fallback strategies 

  • Performance, resilience, and scalability considerations 

  • Logging, auditability, and data retention 

Cloud & Platform Literacy 

  • Azure-based microservices (conceptual understanding) 

  • Platforms such as Cosmos DB, Snowflake, Kubernetes 

  • Ability to interpret solution architecture diagrams
