Who are we?

Howden is a global insurance group with employee ownership at its heart. Together, we have pushed the boundaries of insurance. We are united by a shared passion and no-limits mindset, and our strength lies in our ability to collaborate as a powerful international team comprised of 24,000 employees spanning over 56 countries.

People join Howden for many different reasons, but they stay for the same one: our culture. It’s what sets us apart, and the reason our employees have been turning down headhunters for years. Whatever your priorities – work / life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering – you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.

The role

As Senior Brand Manager, you will sit within the Corporate Affairs division and play a central role in supporting the development, governance and enablement of Howden’s global brand across a sophisticated, federated organisation. The role ensures the brand is applied consistently and evolves strategically. It enables the brand effectively at scale while working closely with collaborators from different regions and functions.

What you’ll be doing

Brand oversight and facilitation

  • Support the implementation and ongoing evolution of the global brand framework throughout the organisation.

  • Partner with stakeholders across regions and business units to drive effective, commercially practical brand application.

  • Help handle brand governance processes, approvals and compliance initiatives.

Brand identity and mentorship

  • Support the development, management and evolution of brand identity systems, guidelines and standards.

  • Maintain and update brand mentorship to reflect interpersonal needs, digital requirements and new technologies.

  • Work closely with internal and external creative partners to ensure high‑quality execution across all brand touchpoints.

Stakeholder management

  • Build positive relationships across the organisation, acting as a trusted advisor on brand‑related matters.

  • Influence team members at varying levels of seniority within a matrixed, global business.

  • Collaborate closely with Design, Content, Marketing, Communications, Operations and external agency partners.

Who we’re looking for

  • Proven experience operating in a brand management role within a sophisticated or global organisation.

  • Proven experience managing brand governance, frameworks or mentorship at scale.

  • Strong project management experience, capable of balancing critical thinking and practical delivery.

  • Experience working expertly with creative specialists, providing informed feedback and clear direction.

  • Evidence of establishing effective relationships and influencing stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.

  • Experience leading multiple priorities and workstreams in an evolving or ambiguous environment.

Qualifications

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience in brand, marketing, communications or a related field is desirable.

  • Strong written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate brand mentorship clearly and optimally.

  • Good numeracy skills, with confidence working with budgets, resources or performance considerations relevant to the role.

What do we offer in return?

A career that you define. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no one Howden type. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who share the same values as us:

  • Our successes have all come from someone brave enough to try something new

  • We support each other in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges

  • We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond

Reasonable adjustments

We're committed to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure that our positions align well with your needs.  Besides the usual adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes such as flexible hours* or hybrid working*.

If you're excited by this role but have some doubts about whether it’s the right fit for you, send us your application – if your profile fits the role’s criteria, we will be in touch to assist in helping to get you set up with any reasonable adjustments you may require.

*Not all positions can accommodate changes to working hours or locations. Reach out to your Recruitment Partner if you want to know more.
