What does a Senor B2B Customer Marketing Manager do at Busuu?

We're looking for a hands-on Senior B2B Customer Marketing Manager to own the marketing that keeps our existing customer base engaged, adopting, and renewing. This role sits alongside our demand generation function but owns a different problem: once an account signs, how do we drive learner engagement and protect renewal.

You'll work across two audiences and two platforms: decision-makers and admins, engaged predominantly through HubSpot, and learners, engaged through Braze. You'll build and run the retention and lifecycle campaigns in both.

Alongside this, you'll own our wider client enablement activity: establishing a self-serve Enablement Hub with materials and help sheets for clients, account-level learner sessions delivered at client sites, and seasonal campaigns and competitions, all designed to drive adoption and support renewal. Net revenue retention sits with the whole business, but this role is the marketing engine behind the retention half of it.

Responsibilities

  • Lifecycle & Retention Marketing (HubSpot): Own the customer marketing calendar for decision-makers and admins across onboarding, adoption, and renewal stages. Build and run the campaigns yourself in HubSpot, including segmentation, workflows, and reporting. This role owns retention-focused HubSpot delivery.

  • Learner Engagement (Braze): Design and run engagement and re-engagement campaigns for learners inside B2B accounts through Braze, working with Product and Customer Success to identify low-engagement cohorts.

  • Retention Targets: Own renewal campaigns ahead of contract dates, working with Customer Success to flag at-risk accounts. Help establish the renewal targets tied to marketing-influenced retention, and be accountable for delivering against them.

  • Reporting & Insight: Track engagement and retention metrics across HubSpot and Braze, including learner activity rates and renewal rate. As the Enablement Hub is built out, help establish hub usage as a tracked metric, with the aim of reporting on marketing's full contribution to NRR through retention.

  • Client Enablement: Build and establish our self-serve Enablement Hub from the ground up, working with Product and Customer Success to identify what admins and learners need help with next. Plan and run the on-site learner session calendar across client accounts, and use seasonal campaigns and competitions to create moments that re-engage lapsed accounts.

  • Customer Advocacy: Support our customer advocacy programme by sourcing case studies, testimonials, and speaker opportunities from your retention and engagement work, and by identifying accounts strong enough to put forward as advocates.

  • Signal Sharing: Flag accounts showing strong adoption or engagement to Customer Success and New Business team, so they can act on expansion opportunity.

Requirements

  • Experience: Demonstrated track record in B2B customer marketing, lifecycle marketing, or customer advocacy, ideally within a SaaS or EdTech environment with a recurring revenue model.

  • Technical Proficiency: Must have 5+ years' hands-on experience building and running campaigns in HubSpot, including segmentation, workflows, and reporting. Braze experience is a strong plus, and this role will use it for learner engagement specifically.

  • Retention Mindset: Understanding of how marketing activity influences net revenue retention through adoption, learner engagement, and renewal.

  • Platform Alignment: This role owns retention-focused HubSpot build and delivery, working closely with the Automation Manager, who owns new business and upsell workflows, to keep segmentation, scoring, and reporting logic consistent across the platform.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Comfortable working closely with Customer Success and Sales, translating account health signals into marketing action.

  • Content Craft: Experience producing customer-facing content, such as case studies and testimonials, that lands with a B2B audience.

  • Building from Zero: Comfortable building new programmes and workflows from the ground up. This function doesn't exist yet, so you'll be establishing the foundations as well as running them.

  • Communication: Fluency in English with strong written skills required. Additional European languages (French, Spanish, Italian, or German) are a strong plus.

  • Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple channels, from CRM to on-site delivery, and stakeholders simultaneously.

At Busuu we want to ensure you have access to some great benefits:
  • Centrally located offices with free breakfast, snacks, fresh fruit, and lunch.

  • Private Health Insurance scheme.

  • A personal training budget so you can grow your skills and progress your career.

  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid model of working to support work-life balance.

  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.

  • A rich social calendar: team lunches, Friday socials, quarterly team events, and company-wide celebrations.

What happens next

We aim to keep our hiring process simple and speedy. We want to make sure we are right for you as much as the other way around.

  • CV review: We will review your application as quickly as possible.

  • Intro call: A quick chat with our team about your experience and the role.

  • Hiring Manager interview: A deeper conversation about your background and approach.

  • Case study: A take-home task to show off your skills.

  • Final interview: Review the task and meet other members of the team.

Our platform is for everyone, and so is our workplace. We pride ourselves on embracing our differences, whether they are cultural, racial, religious, or otherwise. This means each one of us comes to work knowing we have a voice and a safe, judgement-free zone to speak freely.

If that sounds like your kind of place, we would love to hear from you.
