STACK is currently recruiting for a Senior Authorizing Engineer (Electrical) to join our Infrastructure Delivery team within the Data Center Delivery organization. You will be responsible for the practical implementation and application of electrical safety rules across all sites, systems, and installations, ensuring the safety of both internal and external teams.

In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to solve complex problems within your field while serving as a strategic interface between STACK’s internal teams and external stakeholders. As a leader and subject matter expert, you will represent functional accountabilities and oversee General Contractor SAPs, APs, and STACK Energy Marshalls.

You’ll ensure all standards, processes, systems, and tools are current, fit for purpose, and compliant with both regulatory and contractual obligations. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate must hold a license as an Electrical Authorizing Engineer and be willing to travel extensively across STACK sites within EMEA.


Key Responsibilities

  • Audit contractual compliance across UK and Europe against statutory regulations, legislation, and industry best practices in electrical engineering.
  • Communicate updates on relevant regulations and industry standards to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build professional relationships across all levels, delivering clear technical guidance and contributing to formal and ad-hoc reports.
  • Train, coach, and assess competency levels within your area of expertise.
  • Provide functional line management to individuals in designated Safety/SME roles.
  • Develop and maintain robust electrical safety rules and procedures.
  • Supervise sub-contractors on-site, proactively identifying issues and mitigating potential risks.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Level 3 qualification.
  • Proven experience performing Electrical Authorized Person (AP) duties.
  • Strong IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Engineering competence equivalent to NVQ Level 5 or higher.

Personal Skills

  • Strong ability to collaborate with Data Center Engineering leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical technical standards.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical and/or mechanical control systems.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents, including design drawings and control diagrams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across EMEA to support both existing and new data center facilities.
