Job Description:

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.
We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.

About the Role:

Remitly's mission is to transform the lives of immigrants and their families by providing the most trusted financial services on the planet. Our EMEA & APAC Creative team makes work that connects with local cultures and drives business results across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, covering brand campaigns, digital performance, motion, broadcast and out-of-home.

As a Senior Art Director you'll be a senior specialist and project leader. You'll own regional creative from concept through delivery and optimisation. You'll work independently, hold the team to a higher quality bar, coach junior designers, and partner with global teams and external agencies to move Remitly's brand forward. You'll be accountable for measurable creative outcomes. This role is based in our London office (hybrid, 3 days onsite per week) and reports to the Creative Lead for EMEA & APAC.

You Will:

  • Lead creative development for regional campaigns across brand and performance channels, making sure the work meets or exceeds the global quality bar.
  • Turn briefs into well-reasoned, insight-led concepts that bring clarity to ambiguous problems and put the customer first.
  • Own design projects end to end. You'll choose the methods, timelines and creative approaches that best achieve business objectives.
  • Review agency and partner work and push it higher, keeping it on-brand, accurate and excellent.
  • Audit existing creative using data, insight and market context to find ways to improve or optimise it.
  • Design with a global mindset, keeping non-English languages and localisation in mind from the start.
  • Communicate timelines, risks, blockers and dependencies before anyone has to ask, so stakeholders always know where things stand.
  • Work with global creative, marketing, brand and performance teams to bring regional needs into broader creative strategies, and speak for those needs in cross-functional forums.
  • Guide and coach junior designers, and help teams in different locations share what they know.
  • Find and put in place improvements to processes, templates and delivery that raise quality, efficiency and consistency across the team.

You Have:

  • 6-8+ years of experience in visual design, digital design and execution across multiple channels.
  • Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • A proven track record of leading creative for campaigns or regions, with in-market results to show for it.
  • The ability to turn strategy and customer insight into compelling creative, with distinct conceptual directions rather than just stylistic variations.
  • Experience directing external agencies and raising the quality of their work.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior creatives.
  • Strong judgment and structured thinking when problems are ambiguous, plus the ability to build alignment and handle conflicting viewpoints constructively.
  • A track record of reliability, ownership and self-management in a hybrid environment.
  • Bonus: motion design skills, experience with AI creative tools for ideation and production, and experience presenting creative to senior stakeholders and partners.

Our Benefits:

  • Paid Vacation Days
  • Health insurance
  • Commuter benefit
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
  • Mental Health & Family Forming Benefits
  • Continuing education
