The Global Bonusing Governance (GBG) Team is part of Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) and sits within Global Strategy, Operations, & Performance (GSOP). GBG’s team mission is to actively manage and continuously improve the processes by which merchant data is maintained, governed, and used for rewards bonusing. GBG collaborates cross-functionally with enterprise Marketing, US Consumer Services, Global Commercial Services, International Card Services, Global Merchant Services, Technology, Legal, and Compliance teams among others to ensure that we can fulfill accurately on the customer promise.
ResponsibilitiesAs the business owner of Merchant/Industry Bonusing, and the subject matter experts of these processes, the responsibilities of the team include:
- Lead Merchant/Industry Bonusing Category Governance for Card Issuance
- Implement capabilities, processes and controls to ensure merchant data are properly maintained
- Research customer complaints pertaining to merchant/industry bonusing
- Conduct research and support the implementation of new and expanded merchant/industry categories
- Define and implement strategic technology solutions
- Train users on GBG processes
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
- The GBG Team is seeking an Analyst to support the maintenance of merchant data and the bonus categories used to bonus Card Members as part of the card value proposition as well as supporting select campaign offers and other programs. This position will be responsible for the following:
- Review and validate merchant data feeds and customer inquiries to ensure accurate merchant categorization across all bonus categories
- Leverage internal and external tools to complete each merchant validation and record findings - Perform data analytics, including merchant/industry research
- Identify and implement process controls and improvements
- Provide timely responses to requests from Audit, Risk Management and regulators
- Maintain process documentation as part of audit and control requirements
- Support customer remediation efforts
- Proven years of professional/relevant experience is highly desired
- Proven years of merchant data experience
- University Degree (preferred in Engineering, Management Information System, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or other related three-year degree)
- Self-starter with a natural curiosity to understand how things work
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and cares about quality of work
- Demonstrated comfort managing large datasets and performing data analytics
- Experience with conducting research, trend analysis and reporting
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to operate independently and manage tight timelines
- Flexible and able to adapt to shifting or changing priorities
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Positive minded team player with ability to see holistic picture that individual and team success are intertwined
