Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing Analyst Engagement: Work with Product Marketing, Product Management, Coms and other relevant teams to regularly engage tier 1 analysts and protect our position with them:

    • Build, nurture and maintain relationships with tier 1 analysts, being the main point of contact for all communication, questions, updates, etc.

    • Develop and rollout an engagement and communication schedule with tier 1 analysts, including briefings, enquiries, newsletters, and other events.

    • Draft compelling, differentiated updates to analysts throughout the year, keeping them informed on the product strategy, latest releases, market progress, differentiation, customer successes and other relevant information.

    • Project manage the plan end-to-end and be accountable for regular, informative, relevant updates.

  • Analyst Report Submissions: Work collaboratively with Product Management, Marketing, Competitive Intelligence, Customer Success, Sales Operations, Partner Strategy, and others, to support the annual report submissions, including but not limited to, Gartner MQ / Critical Capabilities, and IDC Marketscapes.

    • Project manage the initiative end-to-end and be accountable for a timely, holistic and differentiated submission.

    • Complete the analyst questionnaires / RFP-type requests / business updates with differentiated and validated responses for each report.

    • Review, validate, and edit proposed write-ups and positioning from analysts, including countering incorrect information or contentious claims.

    • Partner with demand generation to design and launch campaigns that create measurable leads and impact brand awareness.

  • Strategic Planning: As part of a broader team including Competitive Intelligence, Customer Insights and Product Management, provide input into the strategic planning process.

    • Perform ‘so-what’ / ‘need to know’ analysis on the insights gathered to improve our position and inform product development, marketing and sales strategies.

    • Prepare an Exec-level, quarterly ‘state of the nation’ update which includes actionable insights and proposals for executive consideration.

  • Enablement and Updates: Work with Sales Enablement, Product Management and Partner Management to ensure market / analyst insights are regularly communicated.

    • Consolidate and summarise market insights, trends and highlights gathered during analyst briefings, enquiries, and recent analysts’ reports.

    • Create sales collateral and enablement to help our field sell to our strengths, overcome our weaknesses, and compete against competitors.

    • Share updates regularly, including a quarterly market update which brings together market, customer, and competitor insights.

Experience and Education:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Analyst Relations

    • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the automation technology space

    • Ideally experience in Product Marketing, PR and / or corporate coms

  • Skills:

    • Extensive project management and organisational experience

    • Familiarity with analyst research methodologies and evaluation criteria

    • Extensive skills in messaging, positioning and writing is essential

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or IT

    • MBA or Masters a plus
