The Team:
The Issuer Relations and Investor Support team (IRIS) is responsible for managing Sustainalytics' interactions with the thousands of global companies that are a part of our research universe. The team also responds to research and methodology related queries originating from our investor clients, which allows our clients to make better informed investment decisions. IRIS is housed within our Research & Methodology Operations group, with the mandate to drive continuous productivity enhancements in our interactions with companies.
The Role:
This Senior Analyst role is situated in IRIS, interacting with high-profile companies in terms of market cap, investor interest, etc. supporting these companies through our research process. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work in a fast-paced global environment, leading research coordination, process management, corporate communication, and influencing the design of online tools to meaningfully contribute to productive interactions between companies and Sustainalytics during their rating update. This role requires a strong communicator and creative problem-solver who can resolve complex questions quickly and effectively coordinate across teams and product lines to bring high-quality ratings to companies and investors.
Responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex corporate and investor queries related to all ESG products and ratings processes, with a focus on timeliness and accuracy, acting as a first point of contact for expert level knowledge.
  • Continuously look for creative ways to solve research related process challenges and improve the scalability and productivity of our interactions with corporates and investor clients
  • Collaborate closely with multiple internal teams for the coordination of high quality ratings
  • Utilize the Sustainalytics' Corporate platform, the Issuer Gateway, to work with rated companies in a professional and efficient manner, seeking to continuously improve the platform
  • Ongoing oversight and maintenance of databases via tools such as SharePoint and Power BI
  • Help maintain an issuer relations database to manage corporate contacts and communications
  • Work with internal stakeholders to further develop technical tools which are needed by the team to improve processes as well as deliverables


Qualifications:
The ideal candidate needs to be a genuine team player who can reach objectives individually, as well as through close collaboration and coordination with other team members.
Key Qualifications include:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a research related role, preferably ESG or sustainability research
  • Experience working with a corporate sustainability, sustainable finance or ESG rating provider is an asset;
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders from multiple teams and levels;
  • Flexible mindset with ability to work towards strict deadlines and high-quality standards;
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, across different regions with a problem-solving attitude and attention to detail;
  • Experience in dealing with Sharepoint, PowerBI, complex Excel workbooks, and other data management tools;
  • Degree(s) in related discipline (business, finance, sustainability, sciences, communication);
  • Alignment with Sustainalytics' mission, vision and values
