Edelman Smithfield is Edelman UK’s financial communications & capital markets specialists. We advise public and private companies on strategic and capital markets communications to position them within the financial community during normal-course business and transformative events (M&A, IPOs, Spinoffs, Bankruptcy, Investor Relations, etc.).

We provide corporate communications support to a wide range of blue-chip financial services firms, and have expertise in asset management, pensions, professional services, insurance and consumer finance, devising highly creative media engagement platforms that differentiate our clients from their peers. 

We also provide ESG consulting services to support clients in that mitigate risks, capture business opportunities, and earn the trust of all stakeholders, including investors.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Digital Account Executive / Senior Account Executive with an interest in financial services communications and digital strategy to join our London team. 

This role is suited to someone who is curious about the broader digital ecosystem and keen to build experience across multiple areas including digital campaigns, content strategy, analytics, search, and social platforms.

You will support the delivery of integrated digital programmes that combine content, search, social, and performance insights to drive visibility and engagement for our clients across the UK, US, and beyond.

The role offers an opportunity to develop a well-rounded digital skillset, working alongside experienced specialists while contributing to strategic thinking, campaign delivery and client advisory.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Campaigns & Activation

  • Support the planning and delivery of integrated digital campaigns across social platforms, search and web channels.
  • Contribute to the development and optimisation of campaigns designed to increase reach, engagement and visibility for clients.
  • Assist with campaign coordination across multiple digital channels and formats.

Search & Digital Visibility

  • Support search and digital visibility initiatives, including keyword research and content optimisation.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve online discoverability and audience engagement through integrated search and content strategies.
  • Contribute to broader digital strategies that connect content, search and social channels.

Insights & Performance

  • Monitor and analyse digital performance using a range of analytics and monitoring tools.
  • Support reporting and insight development, helping translate performance data into clear recommendations for clients.
  • Track industry and competitor activity to identify emerging trends and opportunities.

Content & Digital Storytelling

  • Contribute to the development of digital content and campaign ideas across different formats and platforms.
  • Support executive visibility and thought leadership initiatives through digital channels.
  • Assist with the creation of campaign assets, presentations and digital materials where required.

Client Support & Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams to deliver integrated communications programmes.
  • Support client communication through reporting, updates and campaign coordination.
  • Contribute to new business proposals and digital strategy discussions where appropriate.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years’ experience in digital communications, marketing, or digital strategy (agency and financial serice experience is a plus).
  • Interest in digital campaigns, content strategy, analytics and online visibility.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curiosity about the evolving digital and social media landscape.
  • Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Semrush, social listening platforms, or digital campaign management tools is helpful but not essential.
  • Exposure to paid or performance marketing platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Meta, Google Ads) would be a nice to have, but experience can be developed within the role.
  • Awareness of SEO and digital visibility principles is helpful but not required
