Edelman is a voice synonymous with trust, reimagining a future where the currency of communication is action. Our culture thrives on three promises: boldness is possibility, empathy is progress, and curiosity is momentum.

At Edelman, we understand diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) transform our colleagues, our company, our clients, and our communities. We are in relentless pursuit of an equitable and inspiring workplace that is respectful of all, reflects and represents the world in which we live, and fosters trust, collaboration and belonging.

About the Company

We are a leading global communications marketing firm helping business and organisations evolve, promote, and protect their brands and reputations. We are independent and family owned, which allows us the freedom to deliver original thinking and invest in our clients.

In the UK, there are more than 600 employees based in our offices in Victoria. We create award-winning creative communication programmes for our clients, including Microsoft, Nissan, Disneyland Paris, FedEx, Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

We have deep expertise and advise on consumer trends, research, analytics and insights, corporate reputation, health, technology, capital markets, crisis, energy, and government affairs.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to join our Edelman team where you will be supporting a global client end-to-end. Specifically, you will have a dual, blended role, working into both the Business Communications and the Partnerships function, managing a global portfolio of high-end business events, as part of our Business Engagement Platform Partnerships (BEPP) work, and supporting on always-on media relations, executive positioning and business support tasks as part of our Business Communications function.

The role will see you work across both workstreams, building a solid understanding of the clients core business capabilities and verticals. This knowledge will be applied to the BEPP workstream where you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the strategic delivery of a global portfolio of events, from APAC to the Americas, including events that span large-scale platforms, as well as smaller, more targeted roundtable discussions. Additionally, you will use the same knowledge to drive forward the global media relations and executive positioning programmes for the Business Communications team.

You will be asked on occasions to attend events on ground, managing senior stakeholders, driving our earned media relations efforts, and overseeing speakers’ thought leadership sessions and content.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communications professional with a background in integrated B2B communications programmes, and delivering events. The successful candidate should be business focused, strategic and commercially astute. You will be comfortable building strong client relationships quickly and have gained experience working in a very fast-paced dynamic working environment. You must thrive working in a fast-paced environment where you will need to juggle multiple tasks and ensure we are delivering on time and to an exceptional standard. You will also need to have a proactive and positive approach as you will be working with a range of senior stakeholders and partners with differing priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Build a strong relationship with key clients, lead client, and internal calls, providing ongoing counsel where required.
  • Build and deliver B2B communications programmes that promote core business capabilities, products and services, as well as profiling the executives that run each respective business unit.
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of the Rights & Benefits for sponsored events. This will include overseeing the delivery of planning documents, talking points for senior executives, briefing books, messaging as well as social media copy and earned media relations.
  • Quality check, create and update messaging documents and strategic documents to ensure our Business Engagements portfolio actively supports the wider business objectives.
  • Possess strong written skills, being able to draft the above documents to a high quality.
  • Be adept at producing PowerPoint decks to a high-standard when required to highlight recommendations and strategic council.
  • Manage junior teams and ensure we are tracking well against deliverables and deadlines.
  • Track budgets and spending on the account, taking part in forecasting and budget calls, and tracking the scope of work.
  • Lead meetings with senior stakeholders at DP World (for example briefings and moderator calls, as well as regular business update calls).
  • Oversee the output from key partners in the Inter-Agency-Team, as well as keeping in close contact with event organisers at all times.
  • Attend events on the ground, making sure that you have a critical eye over their delivery. Willingness to occasionally travel to events where needed.
  • Track KPIs and overall event delivery to ensure we are meeting deliverables and working our events as hard as possible.
  • Leverage Edelman’s latest technology tools to ensure the smooth running of the account.

Experience:

  • Competent, all-round senior comms person, who is organised, is calm under pressure and can juggle multiple tasks and deliverables at once
  • They should have experience of and thrive in a fast-paced workstream, working on global events and regional events. Ideal candidate would have previous experience working within the logistics and/or transport industry.
  • Strong track record of building excellent relationships and credibility with business leaders based on understanding the client’s business.
  • Strong communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills – fosters the growth of the team and brings a positive attitude to the work. Able to connect dots between multiple internal teams and clients.
  • Ability to get work done to a high consistent standard and enjoy working on events.
  • Have a natural interest in storytelling, as well as keeping up to date on news and global trade dynamics.
  • Eagerness to get ‘stuck in’ and to make the most of each opportunity.
