Senior Account Manager, CPG Strategic Partnerships

At Deliveroo, our mission is to transform the way people shop and eat, bringing the neighbourhood to your door by connecting customers, restaurants, shops and riders. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, when and where they want it.

We are a technology-driven company at the forefront of the most rapidly expanding industry in the world. We are still a small team, making a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas.

The Role

As a Senior Account Manager in our new FMCG Strategic Partnerships team you will be responsible for managing the day to day relationship & leading the joint business plan with Deliveroo’s largest advertisers in the Beverages and Beer, Wine and Spirits categories. You will use your knowledge and expertise of the Deliveroo platform to grow this partner's sales and improve the efficiency of their advertising investment. Collaborating with various functions across Deliveroo, you will proactively provide partners with category insights, and thought leadership as a specialist in on-demand delivery.

Using data to understand patterns in how these partners are performing and creating compelling insight into how and where they can improve will be critical to your success in the role. You will need to be able to manage multiple projects at once, interacting with key functions such as National Accounts (Grocery & Restaurants), Marketing, Operations and Product.

Working with advertising partners of this scale you will often have to overcome challenges that Deliveroo is facing for the first time, helping to shape the future of how we interact with the very largest partners globally.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Directly own the day-day relationship for a select group of our highest priority strategic accounts (~2-3) within Beverages and BWS

  • Lead on the negotiation and longer term account planning/Joint Business Planning processes, with support from your Client Partner.

  • Drive partner growth & deliver incremental advertising revenue by owning your portfolio’s business growth through proactive reporting, weekly/monthly/quarterly meetings and reviews, analysis, improvement projects, and identifying growth opportunities. You will work with both internal and external stakeholders to drive change and devise solutions to ensure issues are addressed and your accounts continue to grow.

  • Identify opportunities to deepen and grow the relationship with your partners by involving and working cross functionally with other parts of the Deliveroo business.

  • Work with restaurant & grocery marketing counterparts to design, deliver and evaluate campaigns that drive value for our advertising partners and vendors.

  • Deliver Deliveroo’s annual (financial) advertising objectives for your partner portfolio by tracking plan implementation, controlling expenditure, taking ownership of a tactical approach to exclusivity and identifying “in-flight” interventions to course-correct where under-performing.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years’ experience in an account management, strategy & insights, or strategic partnerships role. Experience working within (or with) the FMCG/Retail Media industry is preferable.

  • Confident working with and analysing data to create compelling insight that is clear and actionable.

  • Experienced negotiator within the ability to drive mutual value for both partners and Deliveroo

  • Partner obsessed, with effective relationship building, organisation and communication skills whether face to face, or through video, phone or email.

  • Able to create ideas and strategies to drive growth of our joint business with our partners, with a willingness to trial at pace.

  • Collaborative team player who is able to get the best out of the people around you. Able to work effectively with all levels of Deliveroo.

  • Project/Programme management experience is preferable.

  • Experience in working in a dynamic high-growth company is preferable
