Via is on a mission to create public transportation systems that provide far greater access to jobs, healthcare, and education. Our platform serves as the technology backbone for modern transit networks, transforming antiquated and siloed public transportation systems into smart, data-driven, and efficient digital networks. With hundreds of agency partners around the world, Via is recognized as the leading transportation technology and service provider globally.

As a Commercial Lead at Via, you will be the face and voice of Via for our partners in France and Benelux, both internally and externally. You'll build genuine, durable relationships with the cities and operators working to deliver better transportation for their communities — owning the full commercial journey, from closing new partnerships to driving the renewals, expansions, and growth that follow. Our team is made up of talented, collaborative people who are passionate about making public transit better, and at Via, the work we do together translates into real impact for the people who depend on it every day.

This is an individual contributor role based in Amsterdam, Paris, or London. You'll own your deals end-to-end, with real autonomy and direct impact on how Via grows in your markets.

About the Role:

  • Build and close partnerships with city governments, transport authorities, and private operators, navigating complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles from first conversation to signed deal
  • Own the full account lifecycle post-signature: renewals, upsell, cross-sell, and year-over-year service expansion
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for executive city and agency leadership, acting as a trusted advisor who translates partner needs into concrete service improvements and commercial opportunities using Via's full platform, including Citymapper
  • Analyse service performance data on an ongoing basis, turning complex datasets into clear strategic decisions that drive quality, efficiency, and growth
  • Create compelling, data-driven business cases that demonstrate how Via improves ridership, efficiency, and sustainability
  • Lead high-stakes negotiations with senior stakeholders, bringing clarity and confidence to complex, politically sensitive situations
  • Represent Via externally through conferences, industry events, and thought leadership, while feeding market intelligence back to product and strategy teams

About You:

  • 6+ years of experience in sales, account management, business development, or strategy — ideally in enterprise, government, or infrastructure; a background in public transport or mobility is a strong plus
  • A track record of winning and growing complex, multi-stakeholder deals where outcomes are driven by trust and long-term relationship equity
  • Quantitatively inclined and data savvy; you use complex datasets to drive strategic decisions and influence partners and internal teams alike
  • Strong storytelling skills; you turn data, policy, and customer needs into a compelling commercial narrative
  • An entrepreneurial relationship builder who brings clarity and confidence to politically sensitive situations and turns them into opportunities
  • Curious, resourceful, and comfortable in ambiguity; you help shape the way things are done, not just follow them
  • Native or near-native Dutch; professional English required and French is a plus

What We Offer:

  • A chance to be part of a company recognized for its commitment to social impact
  • A hybrid work and a lovely office overlooking the Keizersgracht in the city center, where you can enjoy weekly team lunch and breakfast
  • Competitive compensation including equity
  • Monthly health stipend
  • 25 vacation days

There has never been a more exciting time to be on the cutting edge of public mobility.
