Nationwide is on a multi-year journey to upgrade and improve how we store and manage our customer data. The Customer Data Modernisation Programme is a critical part of our journey to “focused fit and fast” ensuring that our customer records are hosted on a robust and resilient platform with flexibility to adapt to our growth strategy, exiting from the existing Unisys mainframe platform to SAP FS-Business Partner.

With over 80 application consumers of customer data across the Society we require an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join our growing team of developers.

Responsibilities

 

What you’ll be doing

 

The successful applicant would Design, build and deploy SAP objects across multiple workstreams ensuring best practices are being followed. This will involve working with our partners and other areas of the business as appropriate. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned SAP Engineer to step up and work on a significant Programme and support building the SAP FS-BP team from the ground up.

You will be responsible for functional solution design and the creation of functional specification documents. You will also mentor and develop team members, helping to shape and enhance our development processes and delivery strategies.


About you

 

As a minimum requirement, you’ll have;

 

  • Experience analysing business requirements and translate them into effective SAP functional solutions
  • Experience leading workshops with Business and Operations teams to gather requirements, define system capabilities, and drive solution design
  • Produce high-quality functional specifications and support technical teams throughout development and delivery
  • Conducting impact assessments, gap analyses, and solution reviews for new initiatives, regulatory changes, and business enhancements
  • Extensive experience as an SAP Business Partner in large-scale enterprise environments
  • Experience delivering solutions across both on-premise and cloud-hosted technologies
  • Experience with SAP applications in banking and financial services, including payments, core banking, accounting, business partner data (BP/BDT), and complex integration
