Role: Specification Sales Engineer

Location: London / South East

Contract type: Full time, permanent

We are seeking an experienced Specification Sales Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing new business and increasing sales of Carrier’s industry-leading HVAC portfolio, including Chillers, Heat Pumps & AHU’s. You will collaborate closely with M&E consultants, contractors, distributors, and end users to establish Carrier as the preferred specification partner.

What will I be doing as a Sales Engineer?

  • Develop specification sales in the South East England for the Carrier range of HVAC equipment including Chillers and Heat Pumps.

  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities, driving both equipment and service sales.

  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with M&E consultants, main contractors, distributors, and end users.

  • Work collaboratively with key account managers, vertical specialists, and the direct sales team to maximise market share.

  • Provide expert technical guidance throughout the sales cycle, ensuring solutions meet customer and project requirements.

  • Maintain consistent customer engagement, including site visits and technical meetings.

  • Manage reporting, forecasting, and project tracking through Salesforce CRM.

  • Monitor competitor activity and strategically position Carrier solutions within the market.

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of HVAC industry, particularly hydronic chilled water, air, and heating applications.

  • Proven sales experience within the HVAC sector, working with installing contractors, M&E consultants & end user clients.

  • Experience of managing your own time and customers, setting targets and monitoring progress.

  • Presentation skills and ability to conduct meetings.

  • Ability to manage your own territory, pipeline, and customer relationships effectively.

  • Strong communication skills

  • UK Driving Licence

  • IT Literate with MS Office skills
