The Sales Engineer will partner with Account Executives, lead technical discovery sessions, deliver product demonstrations, and act as the main technical advisor for prospective clients, translating technical concepts for various stakeholders.

We have big plans ahead and are looking for a rockstar Sales Engineer to join us in building our GTM team.
The Role
The Sales Engineering function is the technical face of the GTM team. You will be the primary technical partner for our Account Executives, engaging with prospects on the cutting-edge of AI to drive new business and close complex, high-value deals. You will be the expert translator, responsible for deeply understanding a customer's business challenges, existing technical infrastructure, and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to lead the technical strategy for complex, enterprise sales cycles and co-own the technical win.
-Lead technical discovery sessions with a wide range of stakeholders, from hands-on ML engineers to senior leadership, to uncover deep business pain, strategic goals, and technical requirements.
-Design and deliver compelling, value-based product demonstrations that connect Encord's solutions to specific business outcomes.
-Translate complex technical concepts and findings into clear, persuasive narratives for senior, non-technical stakeholders (Directors, VPs, CTOs).
-Build and manage customized proof-of-concept (POC) environments, sample scripts, and data integrations (using our Python SDK etc.) to showcase the platform's power and solve prospect-specific challenges.
-Act as the key technical advisor to prospects, expertly guiding them through security, architecture, and integration evaluations
-Serve as the "voice of the customer" to our Product and Engineering teams, channeling feedback from complex enterprise clients to help shape the product roadmap
About You
-1-2+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, or a related field.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills. You can confidently explain complex technical topics to both highly technical engineers and senior decision makers.
-Strong technical proficiency with at least one scripting language (Python preferred), working with SDKs/APIs, and an understanding of cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure).
-Ability to translate value between technical and commercial stakeholders both with prospects and within Encord.
-A deal-driven attitude and commercial mindset, with the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment and work well under pressure.
-A "hacker mindset" – you are a creative problem-solver who can quickly build scripts, tools, or integration workflows to overcome a prospect's technical hurdles during an evaluation.
-Beneficial: previous experience in a fast-paced B2B startup, especially in the AI space.
