Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy - fast. We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We raised $170M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more.
We’re creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass on savings to customers.
But we’re not stopping there. We’re also building the Energy Network: a decentralised platform of smart devices to electrify our homes, shifting usage to off-peak hours and helping balance the grid. This network strengthens grid stability, a critical foundation for scaling AI data centers and other energy-intensive industries.

We are looking for an exceptional Robotics Engineer to build autonomous robotic systems in real world environments. This role sits at the intersection of robotics, machine learning and systems engineering. You will work across the full stack, from research, planning, control systems all the way to deployment. This position is suited to someone who is equally comfortable in research, training machine learning models and delivery of a robot to the field.

  • Design, build and deploy autonomous robotic systems.
  • Develop planning, perception and control systems using modern machine learning and robotics techniques.
  • Research and implement state of the art approaches in embodied AI, transformer architectures, reinforcement learning and robot learning.
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, perception systems and control frameworks into robust production systems.
  • Help define the long term technical direction of Fuse's robotics programme.

Requirements
  • Strong experience building and deploying robotic systems in real world environments.
  • Expertise in C++.
  • Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS2.
  • Strong understanding of motion planning, robot control, computer vision and perception systems.
  • Experience training and deploying machine learning models.
  • Familiarity with transformer architectures, reinforcement learning, imitation learning or robot learning techniques.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast moving startup environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on embodied AI or robotic foundation models.
  • Publications or significant contributions within robotics or machine learning.
  • Experience with manipulation, mobile robotics or industrial robotics.
  • Experience taking robotics products from prototype through deployment.
  • Interest in energy and industrial automation.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary and an equity sign-on bonus
  • Biannual bonus scheme
  • Fully expensed tech to match your needs
