Role: Risk Manager - Enterprise Risk Management

We’re looking for an experienced risk management professional to join our Risk function to support the delivery of our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and risk oversight. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business to embed risk awareness and support a range of risk management activities, including deep dives, emerging risk, ORSA, risk appetite, and control effectiveness.

About The Job
While there is rarely a typical day, here’s a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job:
Taking ownership of and overseeing key aspects of the Risk Management Framework
Leading a high-performance culture within your immediate team and the wider Risk & Compliance function.
Building relationships with stakeholders in Underwriting, Operations, Finance, and other areas of the business to understand their priorities and risk issues.
Providing independent review and challenge of strategy, processes, governance, and controls.
Maintaining the Risk Management Framework to ensure it provides MS AUL with an appropriate structure to identify, assess and report on its risks.
Providing input into the ORSA to promote its use as a value-add report that supports and informs risk-based decision making.
Leading deep dives and risk opinions across a range of risk areas across the business.
Support effective, value-add delivery of our integrated assurance plan– helping agree review scopes and lead stakeholder management through to completion of final reports, including appropriate framing of findings and business engagement on follow-up assurance actions.
Representing Risk throughout projects and initiatives across a range of risk areas across the business. This may include effective participation on Working Groups and SteerCos through review and challenge, both in-flight and set piece.
Working with Compliance to co-ordinate the effective and efficient delivery of our Lloyd’s PBO attestation – helping stakeholders across the business to appropriately evidence how MS Amlin meets Lloyd’s expectations.
Leading various risk management activities, including risk identification, monitoring and reporting, and supporting the business in putting in place an effective control environment.
Supporting the review and maintenance of risk appetite and tolerance frameworks.
Presenting results of analyses and reports to Senior Management.
Championing a culture of risk awareness and serving as an example for other members of the Risk function.
Supporting delivery of Risk & Compliance’s Knowledge Management pillar – helping to raise awareness of risk management topics across the organisation and within the immediate team.
Overseeing the learning and development of junior members of the team, as well as supporting effective performance management of staff.
Lead on any 2nd line functional objectives working across the different pillars to achieve common objectives including support on away days, team meetings and any inter-departmental projects.

What you’ll need:
For this particular role there are some important qualifications and experience we need you to be able to demonstrate through your experience and achievements. These include:
Strong risk management experience
Strong execution skills and an ability to remain resilient under pressure and change
Strong people management including coaching and performance management
Strong organisational and analytical skills
Ability to shape MI, providing insight in executive and board committee quarterly reporting
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate in writing and verbally
Gravitas and the ability to hold your own in meetings with senior stakeholders
Strong self management capability – can effectively manage own time and actively prioritise
Ability to exercise strong judgement – including when/how to leverage resources around you, when/how to escalate versus resolve matters directly
It would be advantageous if you also have experience in any of these:
Strong knowledge of the Lloyd’s Market
Project Risk Management
Stress and Scenario Testing
ESG Risk Management
Auditing/assurance reviews
