Revenue Accountant

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, personable and commercially aware Revenue Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a high-profile role within the finance function, responsible for ensuring revenue is recorded accurately, forecast reliably and supported robustly as the business continues to scale.
Working closely with the Finance Director and operational stakeholders across the business, you will play a key role in strengthening the integrity of revenue reporting, identifying potential revenue leakage and supporting improvements to the controls, systems and processes governing the recording and forecasting of customer revenues.
What we are looking for…
We’re seeking a motivated results-driven individual with 3–5 years’ experience in a finance role involving revenue accounting, forecasting or management accounts. They will be organised, analytical and confident working with financial data and complex excel revenue modellings.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will support the accurate recording, reconciliation and forecasting of revenue across the Group. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Billing, Order Management and Project Management teams to ensure commercial developments and operational changes are reflected accurately within revenue reporting and forecasts. As such effective communication and interpersonal skills are paramount.
This role requires strong Excel capability, attention to detail, ability to interpret commercial information and translate it into meaningful financial reporting and analysis with ability to work well across different teams and functions.

Key responsibilities of the role…
Revenue Accounting:
Prepare and post month-end revenue journals within NetSuite, subject to review by the Finance Director
Maintain accrued and deferred revenue schedules across entities
Reconcile revenue-related profit and loss and balance sheet accounts between NetSuite and supporting models
Prepare clear working papers to support internal review and external audit requirements
Investigate and explain variances between actual revenue and forecast data
Revenue Forecasting:
Maintain the Group’s revenue forecasting models
Update forecasts at contract level using commercial, billing and operational inputs
Ensure underlying assumptions are clearly documented and traceable
Reconcile forecast outputs to NetSuite and billing reports
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation and accuracy within forecasting models and processes
Commercial & Operational Revenue Coordination:
Act as a key liaison between Finance, Sales, Order Management, Billing and Project Management teams
Interpret contract terms and delivery milestones for revenue forecasting purposes
Translate operational updates into financial impacts within forecasts and reporting
Prepare structured revenue summaries for internal stakeholders
Support Billing in identifying revenue leakage or delays in invoicing
Act as a central point of coordination between Legal and Billing when resolving contractual billing issues
Revenue Insight, Budget Support & Continuous Improvement:
Provide revenue insights and supporting analysis for the Group budgeting process
Prepare responses to revenue-related audit queries and escalate technical matters where required
Proactively identify improvements to revenue forecasting models, processes and controls
Support the continued development of financial reporting clarity and operational efficiency across revenue processes
About you…
Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA), AAT qualified or equivalent practical experience
A minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a finance role involving revenue, forecasting or management accounts
Experience working with structured Excel models and financial analysis
Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, logical formulas and validation checks
Experience preparing month-end journals and reconciliations
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
Excellent organisational skills with a methodical approach to financial processes
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems desirable
Exposure to revenue recognition concepts such as accruals, deferrals or contract timing differences desirable
Experience within a SaaS or technology business desirable
