We are now recruiting for a Resource Planning Analyst to join our busy and growing team at Capita Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS).
The successful candidate will support the creation and maintenance of an accurate resource model and business plans that will maximise resource utilisation and efficiency aligned to the generated forecast.
This is a full time, home based role.

Job Description:

What you'll be doing :

  • Support the maintenance of planning tools, methodologies, and processes to enable effective short-, medium- and long-term supply and demand management.
  • Maintain operational plans, incorporating demand and supply drivers, and provide structured analysis and commentary to inform operational decisions.
  • Undertake detailed variance and root cause analysis to improve forecast accuracy and enhance planning effectiveness.
  • Support accurate data collation and modelling of impact assessments
  • Ensure planning activities are aligned to the Capita Operations Management Framework (OMF) and adhere to defined best practice standards.
  • Identify and escalate performance risks, providing data-led insight and supporting the development of mitigation actions.
  • Contribute to the optimisation of operational resource through the identification of efficiency opportunities, improved utilisation, and reduction of performance leakage.

What we're looking for :

Essential :

  • Experience in forecasting, workforce planning, or performance analysis within an operational environment.
  • Sound understanding of workforce planning principles, including demand forecasting, capacity modelling, and service level dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyse, manipulate, and interpret large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience applying structured modelling and analysis techniques.
  • Experience working with SLAs, KPIs, and performance frameworks.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into clear, structured insight and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing business priorities and operational requirements.

Desirable :

  • Experience working within a Workforce Management (WFM) environment or similar operational planning function.
  • Knowledge of planning frameworks such as the Capita Operations Management Framework (OMF) or equivalent structured models.
  • Experience using workforce planning, scheduling, or forecasting systems (e.g. WFM tools, BI platforms).
  • Exposure to automation, data visualisation, or reporting tools (e.g. Power BI or similar).
  • Awareness of industry best practice in forecasting, capacity planning, and operational performance management.

About HAAS
The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) arranges and carries out assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Communities (DfC). The purpose of the assessment is to understand how an illness or disability affects a person’s daily life. After the assessment, the DWP/DfC makes the decision as to whether the individual will receive benefits.
