Reservations and Systems Analyst

Location – Birmingham (Hybrid)

Salary – Up to £37,000 

At CrossCountry, we’re on a mission to evolve rail travel. As our new Reservations and Systems Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of travel by supporting in the implementation and maintenance of a 6-month booking horizon within the reservation system, allowing customers to book further in advance to enhance the customer experience while driving sustainable business growth.

Reservations and Systems Analyst 

As Reservations and Systems Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of our commercial strategy—playing a vital role in growing and enhancing passenger journeys that drive sustainable business growth. This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact with a real influence. 
 

What you’ll be doing: 
 

  • Supporting with the implementation and maintenance of a 6-month booking horizon within the reservation system.

  • Provide support for management of all aspects of the reservation system, including ensuring all train management is completed to the highest standard through ensuring that all data inputs and outputs are accurate. 

  • Work with the Revenue Management Team to review and refine dashboards and analytical queries.

  • Consult with system suppliers to answer questions and documenting these answers to improve wider team knowledge and maintain own subject matter expert status. 

  • Work with system suppliers to scope relevant improvements, alongside the Revenue Growth Manager and the Revenue Management Systems Manager. 

What we’re looking for: 

Essential: 
 

  • A dynamic and positive individual with the enthusiasm for getting to grips with complex issues. 

  • Able to apply analytical skills to the rail business environment. 

  • Excellent communicator and ability to work alone or as part of a team. 

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines. 

  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and reporting skills. 

  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel.


Desirable: 
 

  • Good understanding of revenue management concepts, theories and techniques

  • Knowledge of the S3 Reservation System

  • Knowledge of SQL 

  • Experience using Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric

  • Knowledge of the CrossCountry business and the wider rail industry
