Build and run an audit-ready regulatory reporting control environment across UK/EU, Singapore and US regimes. Design control frameworks, run testing cycles, validate reporting data, insource US reporting, maintain procedure library, and escalate material risks to senior compliance leadership.

G MASS Consulting are partnered with a leading global multi-strategy Hedge Fund, as they seek a Compliance Associate to build and own an audit-ready regulatory reporting control environment across its UK / EU, Singapore, and US obligations.

Reporting to the Global Head of Regulatory Reporting, this is a deliberately hands-on role. The firm has a set of live reporting, testing, and resilience initiatives in flight, and the mandate here is to turn them into a documented, evidenced, and repeatable programme - moving the function from activity to genuine assurance.

It is a strong fit for someone who wants ownership and breadth rather than a narrow reporting seat. The remit spans three regulatory regimes, and the successful candidate will design the control frameworks, run the testing cycle, and present the results directly to the Global Head of Regulatory Reporting and the Chief Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the compliance-testing cycle from start to finish, consolidating results into clear quarterly MI for the Global Head of Regulatory Reporting and the CCO.
  • Design and maintain control frameworks covering MiFID / MiFIR transaction reporting and MAS OTC derivatives reporting, defining control matrices, ownership, frequency, and evidence standards.
  • Scrutinise reporting data for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, challenging vendor and system outputs wherever the figures don't hold up.
  • Lead the insourcing of US regulatory reporting from an external provider, managing governance, parallel-run validation, and formal sign-off.
  • Establish an independent process for UK short-selling and major shareholding disclosures, reconciling daily against FundApps and providing a workable failover.
  • Assess and strengthen the personal-account dealing control and the processes that support it.
  • Build and maintain a firmwide library of regulatory reporting desk procedures, with proper version control.
  • Work closely with technology, operations, and compliance colleagues across jurisdictions to embed controls into everyday process rather than leaving them as documentation.
  • Document findings clearly and escalate material risks in a timely, proportionate way.

Requirements
  • Practical experience in regulatory reporting, compliance monitoring, or controls, gained at an asset manager, hedge fund, broker-dealer, or similarly regulated institution.
  • Solid grounding in MiFID II / MiFIR reporting requirements; prior exposure to MAS OTC derivatives reporting would be a plus.
  • A track record of designing and owning control frameworks from the ground up, not simply administering someone else's.
  • Confident analytical and SQL skills, comfortable pushing back on vendor or system data and following through until the root cause is found.
  • Familiarity with FundApps and/or EU SSR is an advantage.
  • Strong, precise written communication and disciplined delivery, given the documentation and MI here need to withstand audit scrutiny.

Benefits

Package: Competitive and commensurate with experience.

Scope: A genuinely multi-jurisdictional remit spanning UK / EU, Singapore, and US reporting obligations, with direct visibility to the Global Head of Regulatory Reporting and the Chief Compliance Officer.

Ownership: A build mandate rather than a maintenance one — the frameworks, procedure library, and testing programme established in this role will become the firm’s standard.
