Job Summary

Our Commercial business manages the company's worldwide commodity, supply, and marketing needs. We are seeking an Analyst, Commercial Compliance Europe, to join our London team.
This role has responsibility for advising ConocoPhillips’ UK businesses on commercial compliance and regulatory policies, processes and procedures, ensuring all activities comply with applicable UK and international regulations, and helping to safeguard the organisation’s reputation and integrity. The Commercial Compliance function collaborates with a diverse range of stakeholders to promote a culture of compliance and proactively identify and address potential risks. By providing guidance and training, we enable our business to operate confidently within the regulatory environment.

Position Overview

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Provides guidance for the commercial compliance policies, laws and regulations impacting the ConocoPhillips UK companies, including current financial regulations, legislation and potential developments in the commodities sector across the EU/UK energy sector
  • The initial point of contact for all compliance and regulatory issues, while maintaining discretion and judgment in safeguarding confidential materials
  • Ensuring compliance for MiFID II, EMIR, REMIT, MAR, Bribery Act, Modern Slavery, and ECCTA regulations through appropriate monitoring and mandated reporting requirements
  • Evaluates and anticipates the potential impacts of proposed regulatory developments and represents ConocoPhillips in applicable industry forums
  • Works collaboratively with the internal stakeholders, including the front office, Legal, and the corporate Commercial Compliance team, in support of the Commercial business’ goals
  • Provides guidance, prepares and disseminates communications to internal stakeholders, including front office, and the ConocoPhillips UK companies and their directors
  • Ensure that the business has an appropriate suite of compliance and regulatory policies and procedures
  • Develops and provides compliance and regulatory training to applicable staff

Basic/Required:

  • 3 or more years of experience working in the compliance and regulatory profession in the energy commodity sector
  • 3 or more years of experience working in the EU/UK commodities markets (Gas, crude, & LNG)

Preferred:

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS office suite of products
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret complex legislation and communicate clearly to non-expert audiences
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and advocacy skills
  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative, urgency, and adaptability in fast-paced environments
  • Strategic thinker with sound decision-making and planning capabilities
  • 3 or more years of experience working in the compliance and regulatory profession in the energy commodity sector
  • 3 or more years of experience working in the EU/UK commodities markets (Gas, crude, & LNG)
