VAST DATA UK - Join the company redefining the AI era

This is an opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing technology companies in history at a defining moment in global computing, AI, and data infrastructure.

As organisations across Defence, National Security, Government and NATO modernise their digital capabilities, the ability to securely manage, move, analyse, and operationalise data at scale has become mission-critical.

“VAST's data management vision is the future of the market.” — Forbes

VAST Data is the AI Operating System company built for the AI era. We are transforming how organisations capture, catalogue, protect, enrich, and operationalise massive datasets for real-time analytics, AI training, and AI inference across data centre, edge, tactical and cloud environments.

Designed from the ground up to simplify AI infrastructure, VAST removes the cost and complexity traditionally associated with enterprise data platforms and enables customers to deploy secure, scalable, high-performance AI and data capabilities globally.

Our success has been built on relentless innovation, a customer-first mentality, and a team of fearless “VASTronauts” who thrive on solving difficult problems and creating real-world impact.

This role represents a unique opportunity to help build and shape VAST Data’s UK Defence & Secure Government business during a pivotal period of growth.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly driven and mission-focused individual to develop and expand VAST Data’s presence across:

  • UK Defence
  • UK Secure Government
  • Intelligence & National Security
  • NATO
  • Defence Primes
  • Strategic Systems Integrators
  • Mission-critical Government programmes

This role is ideal for:

  • Military veterans
  • Individuals currently serving and transitioning from the Armed Forces
  • Experienced civil servants within secure government
  • Defence industry professionals
  • Enterprise technology sales leaders already operating in Defence & Government

You will play a leading role in introducing transformational AI and data infrastructure technologies into some of the most strategically important organisations in the UK and allied defence ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the UK Defence & Secure Government go-to-market strategy for VAST Data.
  • Build trusted relationships across Defence, National Security, Intelligence, Government and NATO stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify, develop, and close strategic opportunities across Defence and Secure Government accounts.
  • Lead the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through proof of concept, procurement, negotiation, and long-term account growth.
  • Work closely with channel partners, defence primes, and systems integrators to drive market expansion and programme alignment.
  • Position VAST Data as a strategic AI and data infrastructure platform for mission-critical environments.
  • Engage confidently with senior military leaders, technical architects, procurement teams, programme leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Develop account strategies that align to customer operational priorities, digital transformation initiatives, sovereign capability programmes, and AI adoption roadmaps.
  • Help shape how Defence and Government organisations operationalise AI, data interoperability, resilience, and secure modern infrastructure.
  • Represent VAST Data at industry events, Defence forums, secure government engagements, and strategic partner activities.

What We’re Looking For

Essential -

  • Active SC or DV clearance, or eligibility to obtain clearance swiftly.
  • Strong background within UK Defence, UK Secure Government, NATO, National Security, or Defence Industry.
  • Existing network and trusted relationships across Defence, Government, Intelligence, NATO, or Defence Primes.
  • Ability to operate credibly in highly secure and mission-critical environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building capability.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-moving growth environment.
  • Passion for emerging technology, AI, data platforms, and the role technology can play in national capability and operational advantage.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to align technology outcomes to operational or mission objectives.

Ideal Backgrounds

We recognise exceptional candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds, including:

Military Veterans / Serving Personnel

You may currently serve or have served within:

  • UK Armed Forces
  • Strategic Command
  • Defence Digital
  • Intelligence or cyber units
  • NATO programmes
  • Operational technology, ISR, communications, or digital transformation programmes

You do not need to come from a traditional enterprise sales background; however, you should be commercially minded, relationship-driven, and comfortable engaging with technology and innovation.

Experience leading programmes, influencing stakeholders, delivering operational capability, or working within secure environments is highly valued.

Government / Civil Service

You may currently work within:

  • Home Office
  • Intelligence community
  • National security organisations
  • Government procurement or digital transformation programmes

A strong understanding of how government organisations operate, procure, and deliver capability is highly desirable.

Defence Industry / Enterprise Technology

If you come from the private sector, we would typically expect:

  • 7+ years of enterprise technology sales experience
  • Strong track record selling into Defence, Government, or highly regulated environments
  • Experience exceeding quota and building strategic accounts from the ground up
  • Ability to navigate complex procurement and stakeholder environments
  • Experience working with systems integrators, defence primes, or government frameworks
  • A good technical understanding

What Makes This Role Different

This is not a traditional corporate sales role.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Build a strategic Defence and Secure Government business within one of the most disruptive AI infrastructure companies in the world.
  • Work at the forefront of AI, data interoperability, and secure digital transformation.
  • Bring genuinely transformational technology into mission-critical environments.
  • Help shape how Defence and Government organisations leverage AI operationally.
  • Join a high-growth company where your impact will be visible, meaningful, and significant.

We are looking for individuals who combine credibility, resilience, strategic thinking, relationship leadership, and the drive to build something exceptional.

Desired Attributes

  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Competitive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and fast-paced environments
  • Confidence engaging at both technical and executive levels
  • Collaborative approach internally and externally
  • High integrity and mission focus
  • Experience balancing operational, technical, and commercial priorities

Why Join VAST Data?
