Middleton is a Healthcare Site producing wipes and nonwoven fabrics, located in the periphery of Manchester.

The site has around 60 FTE.

2-3 Quality associates will report to this role.

This role is anticipated to be a two-year assignment.

What you will do:

  • Ensure that Quality System is implemented in the plant per Ecolab standards.
  • Leads Plant QC team. Performs annual PPD & Goal Setting.
  • Empower, delegate, develop and mentor associates in group in line with Ecolab standards. Develops multiskilled associates and create a succession plan.
  • Coach and develop effective coaching and development plans for direct team
  • Provide overall leadership for ISO 9001 & 13485 compliance at plant.  Trains associates.
  • Ensure that raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and distribution activities meet specifications.
  • Follow the Celebrate RED concept with the right Metrics in place, trends analysis, PDCA and Close the loop methodology.
  • Generate Plant Quality objectives in conjunction with SC and division. Deploys the loss analysis and Drives the TPM Quality Pillar Implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Promote and take ownership to build Quality First Time Right culture at the plant.
  • Provide Quality training for Plant associates. Engages Plant LT and ensures Quality Culture initiatives are deployed.
  • Implement Quality Alerts, Kaizens, Operations Owned Quality, Defect elimination to improve loss elimination and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Challenge status-quo, focuses on cost efficiency, and seeks cross-functional collaboration especially with Regional SC supplier quality team and the Division (Sales, RA, RDE, Marketing) to proactively solve potential issues (link to Early Management) and solve problems.
  • Support the investigation of the specific TOP Customer Quality Concerns, and Liaison with the Quality Management Systems Team to achieve sustainable quality improvements.
  • Work cooperatively with Plants, Distribution, Engineering, Regulatory, R&D and Regional Quality to identify root causes of quality issues and implement pro
  • Apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues.
  • Provide guidance and works closely with allocated division Marketing, Sales, Quality, R&D, and local Manufacturing and Distribution on major new product introductions.
  • Focus on speed and agility. Simplification of tests and loss eradication, with the intention of moving from Quality Control to Quality Assurance.
  • Wil be responsible for Quality Budget, and actively looks for ways to reduce Cost of Quality while staying in compliance.

What you will need:

  • University Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Engineering, Food Science, or related field with strong Chemistry component. 
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience with three in a related industry with regulated production. This includes health and hygiene products, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, or other consumer-end use specialty chemicals companies. 
  • The experience should be in Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality Control, or R&D.
  • Strong drive, determination and people management skills to lead from the front and get the best out of the team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Expertise in project management and in managing supply-chain wide improvement projects
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • English fluency

  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence groups across the organization to embrace a common objective, ability to manage conflict and turn them into win-win solution

Nice to have:

  • Advanced technical or business degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a Consumer Products industry.
  • Manufacturing management experience.
  • Six Sigma/DMAIC trained with demonstrated use in logistics and warehouse process improvement.
  • Experience in TPM, process validation, new product introduction, design FMEA.
  • 3+ years people management experience.
