Keeper Security is hiring a talented QA Analyst to join our Keeper App team and focus on testing the backend systems that power Keeper’s enterprise applications, including EPM, Vault and Admin Console. This is a 100% remote position, with an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule for candidates based in the El Dorado Hills, CA or Chicago, IL metro areas.

About the Role

As a QA Analyst on the Keeper App team, you will focus on backend quality assurance by designing and executing tests for APIs, services and databases that support Keeper’s enterprise products. You will validate data integrity, test RESTful APIs and ensure backend services perform reliably across distributed cloud environments.

The ideal candidate has strong SQL skills, hands-on API testing experience and familiarity with cloud-based backend systems, microservices and modern software delivery practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document and execute test cases for Keeper backend services and RESTful APIs
  • Validate MySQL queries, schema changes and data integrity across backend workflows
  • Perform functional, regression and integration testing on backend components supporting EPM, Vault and Admin Console
  • Use tools such as Postman, REST Assured or similar platforms to validate API behavior and support automated API testing
  • Test system performance, scalability, reliability and fault tolerance across distributed cloud environments
  • Collaborate closely with backend engineers, Product and other QA professionals to identify, troubleshoot and resolve defects
  • Track and manage defects in Jira, maintain QA documentation in Confluence and report test execution through TestRail
  • Contribute automated backend and API test coverage to continuous integration and release workflows
  • Validate security-sensitive functionality and ensure testing supports Keeper’s quality and compliance requirements
  • Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude, ChatGPT or similar platforms to support test design, defect analysis, troubleshooting and documentation

Requirements

  • 3+ years of QA or software testing experience with a strong focus on backend and API testing
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing queries and validating relational data
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks for backend and service-level testing
  • Experience testing distributed, cloud-hosted systems, with AWS experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of backend services, APIs, databases and client-server application architecture
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to isolate backend service and data issues
  • Experience working with Jira, TestRail, Confluence or similar QA and defect management tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment
  • Ability and willingness to use AI-assisted tools effectively to improve testing, troubleshooting, analysis and documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Due to this role’s involvement in GovCloud environments, qualified candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Java-based backend systems and microservices architecture
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Locust or similar platforms
  • Understanding of secure software testing practices, encryption and identity protocols such as SAML or SCIM
  • Experience testing cybersecurity, identity or other security-sensitive enterprise applications

6. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, consistent with our industry leading security standards.

7. Retention

We keep your data for 24 months from your last application activity, then delete or anonymize it.

Exceptions:

  • You opt into our talent database for further retention by providing consent (extended retention)
  • You're hired (transfers to employee records)

8. Your Rights

  • Access, correct, or delete your data, subject to applicable law and retention requirements
  • Object to or restrict processing
