Join a collaborative team where you will help drive innovation in regulatory planning and develop your expertise in capital and liquidity management. This role offers opportunities to work with colleagues across regions, enhance your technical skills, and contribute to projects that strengthen the firm’s resiliency.

As a Senior Associate within JPMorganChase Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) Treasury, you will act as a hands-on Python developer supporting the automation and enhancement of Treasury processes and analytics across the organization. You will partner closely with subject matter experts and technology teams to translate methodologies into robust, scalable analytics solutions—building Python-based data pipelines, calculations, and controls that improve speed, accuracy, and repeatability for regulatory deliverables. You will also help produce high-quality materials for internal and external audiences by automating reporting and ensuring outputs are well-documented, traceable, and auditable.

Our purpose is to innovate and deliver solutions to challenging problems and drive sustainable change. We are looking for team members who combine software engineering fundamentals with an understanding of financial contexts—someone who can automate manual workflows and improve existing analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scalable Python code to automate Treasury analytics and workflows across the CIB Treasury organization.
  • Build and enhance forecasting/analytics platforms used by the CIB Treasury organization, focusing on reliability, performance, and reusability.
  • Partner with CIB Treasury subject matter experts to understand complex products, processes, and regulatory drivers, and ensure solutions reflect real business rules and operational constraints.
  • Design and execute validation and control testing (unit tests, regression tests, reconciliation checks, and data-quality controls) to confirm outputs are accurate, explainable, and fit for regulatory and management reporting use.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation (specifications, test plans, test evidence, logs, and change documentation) to support auditability and governance expectations in a Treasury environment.
  • Create and maintain business-aligned test cases, updating them based on project feedback and changes in methodology, data sourcing, or platform requirements.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize Python applications and pipelines, resolving defects efficiently and improving runtime, stability, and observability (logging/metrics) where appropriate.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Econometrics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Relevant work experience in developing applications, products, dashboards or frameworks / process automation / financial analysis / process improvement, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Python (experience using pandas, numpy, matplotlib, sklearn, statsmodels etc.); experience in Git, unit test and debugging
  • Leverage cloud and data platforms (AWS, Databricks, and Snowflake) to build and operate Python-based automation solutions, including data ingestion/processing, scalable analytics, and efficient querying
  • Experience in performing large dataset quality checks and analysis using Excel and Python
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to details
  • General knowledge of software development cycle a plus
  • General knowledge of banking products and services a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, results driven environment
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across functions and regions
  • Experience in partnering with business and technology to drive strategic projects
  • Good organizational, written and communication skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in derivatives pricing, securities, secured funding, market/counterparty risk, or valuations.
  • Technical skills, including JavaScript, SQL, Tableau or Alteryx.
