Programme Manager - Your role:

The Business Change Delivery team is an engaging, personable, and highly motivated team entrusted with the end to end delivery of strategic projects and programmes to bring about positive change for our lawyers, support staff and clients.

Projects and programmes that our team delivers include strategy development, regulatory change, organisational design, merger & alliance, technology-enabled change, and business / process improvement projects.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with senior leaders, our Project Management Office, colleagues in the broader Projects and Change Delivery Team, other members of the firm’s Business Teams such as Technology, Finance, Marketing and HR and, of course, our lawyers.

Key responsibilities will include:

Provide services relating to all aspects of programme management:

  • Mobilise a suitable programme team to undertake the various phases of work, starting with detailed discovery. Matrix management responsibility for individuals within the programme.
  • Ensure suitable SME and business input / engagement and the setup of appropriate forums such as reference groups and governance.
  • Facilitate the selection of any suppliers/resources and be the ultimate point of responsibility for those suppliers and their teams, managing their performance effectively.
  • Be the 1st point of escalation and resolution for all risk/issues deriving from the programme team, escalating to Director of Projects and Change, Sponsors and others as needed.
  • Review and/ or create all programme related documentation, Business Cases/PIDs/Reports/Change
  • Be responsible for the programme budget, including spend to date, forecast to close, FY accounting and changes
  • Risk & Issue management, ability to find, plan and take mitigating actions against of programme threats and resolve problems in a dynamic and collaborative way.
  • Realistic project and change planning; ability to apply programme rationale and pragmatism to programme plans (quality, budgets, schedules)
  • Ensure that stakeholders at all levels are effectively managed, keeping people included, supported and involved as required. Development of suitable change management strategies and plans as needed.
  • Strong leadership with a passion and drive to meet programme time, cost and quality constraints and when challenged seeks trade-offs and alternatives to ensure programme success.

Programme Manager - What we're looking for:

  • Recognised programme and project management qualification (e.g. MSP, PRINCE 2 Practitioner or APM equivalent), programme management, or change management certification and demonstrated continuing professional development.
  • Prior legal services or professional services experience with knowledge of digital platforms and technology.
  • Clear thinking, able to provide sound decision-making and/or guide others, including senior stakeholders, under pressure.
