Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Programme Director to provide senior leadership across a portfolio of strategic healthcare technology programmes and customer accounts.

This role combines programme delivery, operational leadership, customer relationship management, and organisational improvement. You will act as the senior operational owner for key customers, ensuring a seamless experience across Professional Services, Product, Support and Commercial teams.

You will build trusted executive-level relationships, lead complex programmes and escalations, drive service improvement, support business growth, and mentor Programme and Project Managers. Success will be measured not only by delivery outcomes, but also by customer satisfaction, operational excellence, team development, and long-term customer success.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Customer Management

  • Lead a portfolio of complex healthcare technology programmes and strategic customer accounts.

  • Act as the senior operational owner for key customers.

  • Build trusted relationships with executives, SROs, and senior stakeholders.

  • Lead programme governance, executive reviews, and steering committees.

  • Manage complex customer escalations and drive successful outcomes.

  • Ensure a consistent "One Clinisys" customer experience across all functions.

Delivery & Operational Excellence

  • Oversee programme performance, delivery quality, customer outcomes, risks, and financial performance.

  • Drive continuous improvement across delivery, governance, and operational processes.

  • Support customers through digital transformation and organisational change initiatives.

  • Promote best-practice programme management and service delivery approaches.

  • Leverage data, reporting, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled practices to improve performance.

Commercial & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Support strategic sales opportunities, implementation planning, and customer presentations.

  • Work closely with Sales, Product, Support, Customer Success, and Technical teams.

  • Contribute to commercial planning, delivery strategy, and contract reviews.

  • Ensure commitments are achievable, commercially sound, and aligned to customer and business objectives.

People Leadership

  • Coach, mentor, and develop Programme Managers, Project Managers, Consultants, and SMEs.

  • Build leadership capability and drive a high-performing delivery culture.

  • Foster collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

Financial & Portfolio Management

  • Own portfolio financial performance, forecasting, resource planning, and profitability.

  • Provide commercial oversight and identify risks and opportunities.

  • Balance customer satisfaction, delivery quality, and financial performance.

Essential Experience
  • Significant experience leading large-scale healthcare technology programmes.

  • Proven delivery experience within LIMS/LIS, EPR, Order Communications, pathology, diagnostics, or wider healthcare transformation programmes.

  • Experience managing programme portfolios, senior customer relationships, and complex escalations.

  • Strong operational leadership and service delivery experience.

  • Track record of managing and developing Programme Managers, Project Managers, or delivery teams.

  • Experience leading organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong governance, stakeholder management, commercial, and financial management skills.

Desirable Experience
  • Experience within a healthcare software vendor, consultancy, or digital health organisation.

  • Knowledge of NHS clinical workflows, pathology, diagnostics, and laboratory systems.

  • Experience supporting bids, proposals, implementation planning, and pre-sales activities.

  • MSP, PRINCE2, or equivalent programme management qualification.

  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI.

This role requires a working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and the ability to leverage them to improve processes and outcomes. A core understanding of AI concepts is required and must be able to demonstrate the use of AI tools in a professional setting.

Onboarding
As part of our onboarding process, all new employees will be required to attend / travel to the office on their first day of employment. This requirement is essential for onboarding activities, including the identity verification, completion of necessary documentation, receiving your IT equipment, introductions to key team members, and orientation to Clinisys policies and procedures.
