At American Express Global Business Travel (AMEX GBT), we’re powering progress through travel. Our unrivalled choice, value and experience make us the world’s most trusted leader in corporate travel and events. We have an ambitious internal and external growth agenda, and we need talented, bright, and driven people to continue to pave the way.

As Program Manager, Commercial Growth & Strategy, you will play a key role in driving value for our suppliers and clients at Amex GBT. In this role, you will support the Head of Hotel Growth to partner across the whole company to drive cross-functional commercial initiatives. If you have a passion for identifying growth opportunities and the tenacity to deliver them across a complex organization, then this role could be for you.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive revenue growth by translating HGI (Hotel Growth Initiative) opportunities into commercial outcomes, providing leaders with data-driven insights, and delivering growth initiatives end-to-end through strategic governance and leadership
  • Develop clear success metrics for initiatives that ensure delivery of key commercial objectives
  • Lead commercial steering committees with senior stakeholders to ensure adequate communication of progress against those metrics and timely escalation of issues requiring support for resolution
  • Establish a program structure that meets the challenges of complex global, cross-functional strategic initiatives by applying PMI standards and best practices for project planning, project controls, monitoring, and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Collaborate with project and product managers to drive a cross-functional process flow, identifying key focus areas and bringing stakeholders together to deliver initiative goals
  • Translate commercial feedback and market insights into program-level opportunities
  • Share commercial insights back to the program team to demonstrate value to clients and stakeholders, emphasizing the strategic connection between commercial and product perspectives
  • Advocate for product needs at the commercial table while championing commercial priorities within product teams
  • Apply knowledge of business and financial impact of decisions/solutions to drive high-impact projects that support organizational goals and contribute to financial performance
  • Adapt program delivery to changing prioritization and focus areas
  • Lead proactive identification and mitigation of issues and risks, leveraging experience to anticipate risks in advance of impacts and integrating cross-division expertise when identifying mitigation strategies

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in a commercially related discipline (e.g. marketing, business administration, economics, strategy, sales and account management); or equivalent related professional experience
  • A minimum of 3 years' product or program management experience with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment across various teams and time zones, ideally supported by a relevant professional qualification such as CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, PMI, APM, or Prince 2
  • Demonstrated ability to translate between commercial and product perspectives, serving as an effective liaison between both functions
  • A commercial, innovative, and creative mindset with strong attention to detail and a bias for action
  • Effective communicator who can drive cross-company collaboration, often through storytelling and persuasion, finding the common goal that brings multiple perspectives together
  • Demonstrates critical understanding of business processes, making recommendations for improvement and sponsoring workshops/knowledge sessions to leverage insights and subject-matter experts to overcome challenges
  • Aptitude to grasp new concepts quickly, process large quantities of information, and make relevant connections to business implications
  • Experience working with Product teams using agile frameworks
  • Master of project management software such as MS Project, Smartsheet, and MS Office applications for planning, reports, analysis, and presentations
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse team backgrounds and perspectives to create balanced, collaborative approaches to problem-solving
