Your new role: Product Owner

Are you passionate about building new and groundbreaking products? Do you have a knack for optimising platforms and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results? This role is for you.

As the Product Owner at Global, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our technology, with ownership over our most exciting platforms. You’ll work closely with teams across the business to enhance customer experiences, optimise product performance, and ensure our services are driving measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

Product Management (50%)

  • Constant focus on improving the customer experience, ensuring we deliver an unbeatable and industry-leading service and amazing outcomes for our clients.

  • Shape and deliver on Global’s technology roadmap, ensuring it meets both business objectives and user expectations.

  • Oversee product performance with a view of KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators), derived from a deep knowledge of user research and analytics data.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including Technology, Marketing and Sales - to drive new features, product enhancements, and improvements.

Platform Optimisation (30%)

  • Help drive the roadmap and prioritisation of platform features and improvements.

  • Work closely with our software engineers to develop groundbreaking features that unlock business value and enhance the user experience.

  • Work closely with product owners, designers, and developers to refine platform offerings and deliver impactful features.

Day-to-Day Management (20%)

  • Provide guidance to the engineering team on roadmap direction.

  • Manage regular team ceremonies such as planning, refinement, stand-up and retrospectives.

  • Collaborate with our Marketing Tech team on marketing initiatives to ensure cohesive user engagement strategies across all platforms.

  • Regularly provide insights and updates on marketing and content platform performance, ensuring transparency across the business.

What Success Looks Like

In your first few months, you’ll have:

  • Learnt the product inside out and implement quick wins.

  • Analysed user performance metrics to baseline product performance.

  • Completed discovery on optimisations and features that will drive growth and customer success.

  • Worked with our Delivery team to manage daily ceremonies and line up a product backlog for our software engineers to build from.

  • Presented the direction of travel on the product roadmap to the Commercial technology team.

  • Collaborate with our tech and commercial teams, making yourself known as the go-to person for product enhancements and helping to build a brilliant culture to work in.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven Experience: 4+ years experience in product management of B2B (business-to-business) or B2C (business-to-customer) propositions.

  • Prioritisation: The ability to manage multiple requests from a cross-functional team and effectively prioritise so that we only focus on the most impactful changes.

  • Fast learner & technical competence: Ability to quickly understand Global’s platforms and products to help make sound and rational decisions that enhance the customer experience.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with multiple teams - marketing, commercial, technology and finance - to drive product enhancements and deliver results.

  • Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to analyse and interpret data to optimise marketing and content strategies, making data-backed decisions to drive business outcomes.

  • Agile Methodology: Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in an agile product development environment.

  • Tools in Scope: Jira, Confluence, Java, Aha!, Amplitude, Stripe, WalkMe.
