Join us as a Product Owner to shape the strategic evolution of RDaaS and build taxonomy/reference data capabilities that scale across the firm. You’ll lead discovery and design, partnering with business and technology leaders to turn strategy into a consistent, user-centred roadmap with measurable impact.

As a Vice President Product Owner in the Data Taxonomies Product Strategy team, you will shape and drive the strategic evolution of the Reference Data as a Service (RDaaS) Platform and its taxonomy/reference data capabilities. You will lead product discovery and feature design, define standards for data modelling and documentation, and ensure the product roadmap delivers scalable, consistent, and user-centred outcomes. You will partner closely with Product Delivery, UX, Technology, Architecture, Data Governance, and business stakeholders to translate strategy into executable plans and measurable value.

Job responsibilities

  • Define and maintain a clear product vision and multi-quarter roadmap for taxonomy and reference data capabilities aligned to CIB priorities.
  • Establish outcomes and success metrics (e.g., adoption, onboarding efficiency, data quality improvements, user experience enhancements).
  • Lead discovery for new capabilities and enhancements, including customer interviews/workshops, problem framing, and option analysis.
  • Partner with UX and Engineering to design intuitive workflows and journeys; ensure solutions are scalable and consistent.
  • Drive standard data models and taxonomy patterns (hierarchies, relationships, attribute standards, naming conventions, metadata expectations).
  • Ensure designs support governance needs and consistent downstream consumption across tenants and consumer groups.
  • Define and maintain product documentation and process standards (feature documentation, onboarding materials, operating procedures, decision logs).Improve repeatability of product processes (requirements capture, design reviews, change management) in partnership with Delivery.
  • Lead engagement for complex consumer/tenant requirements and onboarding scenarios; translate needs into product patterns rather than one-off solutions.
  • Provide guidance on edge cases and prioritise enhancements that strengthen the core product.
  • Work with the Product Delivery sub-team to ensure strategy is translated into clear epics/stories, acceptance criteria, and release-ready scope.
  • Support refinement, prioritisation forums, and stakeholder communications to enable effective execution


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • User-centered, systems-oriented approach to product design— able to translate user needs into scalable designs leveraging existing functionality where possible and if necessary designing additional features with a focus on wider, application level benefit
  • Prototype those designs individually & in collaboration with UX teams to deliver a quality user experience
  • Extensive experience in product management/product ownership delivering enterprise platforms, data products, or regulated technology capabilities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop product strategy and roadmaps, and translate stakeholder needs into clear requirements and outcomes. 
  • Strong knowledge of data concepts including reference data, taxonomies, metadata, data quality, and data governance/stewardship. 
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence across business, UX, engineering, and governance teams. 
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum/Kanban) with strong backlog management discipline.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with enterprise reference data/taxonomy management tooling (e.g., EBX or similar). 
  • Financial services and/or capital markets data experience. 
  • Experience defining product standards and operating models that improve onboarding, consistency, and usability at scale.
