Great journeys start with Trainline 🚄

We’re Europe’s leading independent rail platform, helping millions of travellers find and book the best-value rail and coach journeys across our app, website and partner channels.

Our job is to make the green travel choice the best choice. By building a better train travel experience, we help more people choose rail - creating a positive impact for customers, our business and the planet.

We’re a team of more than 1,000 Trainliners from over 50 nationalities, working across London, Paris, Barcelona, Milan, Edinburgh and Madrid. Now is a brilliant time to join us and help shape the future of travel.

Introducing the Trainline Product Team 👋

Trainline’s Product team sits at the heart of how millions of people across the UK and Europe plan and book their travel. As Europe’s number one rail travel app, we serve millions of active customers every week across the UK, France, Italy and Spain, and our platform is central to a seamless, end-to-end travel experience. We’re looking for a Product Manager to help drive revenue growth across one of our key revenue lines, including Partnerships and Insurance, and to help scale these areas significantly over the next three years.

You’ll play a foundational role in shaping our monetisation product strategy for the number one travel app in Europe, a business serving tens of millions of users across the UK, France, Spain and Italy. The role combines customer empathy, creative merchandising and commercial thinking to deliver significant, measurable value, and you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Data Science, Design and Engineering, to bring new ideas to market and help them grow.

In this role as the Product Manager for Monetisation at Trainline, you will...🚄

  • Own the monetisation product strategy and roadmap for at least one major revenue stream, such as Partnerships or Insurance, with scope to shape new lines as they emerge.

  • Build a deep understanding of customer journeys and design merchandising experiences, across both app and web, that convert, upsell and delight.

  • Work hands-on to drive revenue: testing, launching and scaling monetisation features that deliver against ambitious growth targets.

  • Continuously evaluate product-market fit, pricing approaches, conversion rates and the underlying economics of each feature to find new ways to create value.

  • Balance quick wins with longer-term capabilities such as segmentation, targeting, pricing flexibility and personalisation.

  • Partner closely with Sales, Partnerships and Finance, as well as Data Science, Design and Engineering, to bring new business lines to market and help them scale.

  • Identify new monetisation opportunities based on customer needs, market trends and competitive insight.

  • Share monetisation best practice across the wider product team, helping to set a high standard for the discipline.

We’d love to hear from you if you have...🔍

  • Experience growing high-performing, revenue-generating product lines, ideally within partnerships, affiliate, insurance or other performance-based models.

  • Strong product instincts and a commercial mindset, with a good sense of what great merchandising looks like and how product can shape customer behaviour.

  • Experience working in high-growth, multi-market consumer tech environments.

  • An interest in experimentation and optimisation, with a focus on achieving measurable results.

  • Experience collaborating with data scientists, designers, engineers and commercial colleagues, balancing different perspectives while keeping sight of the goal.

  • A pragmatic, collaborative approach, comfortable making considered decisions and bringing new ideas to the table.

  • Experience scaling products from early stage to maturity, with an understanding of what it takes to build lasting platform capabilities.

  • It would also be helpful if you have experience with pricing strategy or segmentation models, though this isn’t essential.
