Job Description

Introducing Product at Trainline👋 

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented Product Manager to lead our Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) strategy to deliver personalised, secure and seamless access to our platform. 

Trainline believes in providing a friction free train travel experience, starting from searching for a journey, to boarding the train, to enjoying the stay at the destination. We are a fast-growing consumer business that operates across Europe – with widespread usage in the UK, France, Italy and Spain. This role will help define and execute the strategy and vision for CIAM, that enables secure, scalable, and delightful identity and access experiences for all our customers.

From registration, account management, login & authentication to authorisation & access management, you will focus on balancing security, compliance, and user experience to foster trust and loyalty among our customers. 

You'll be responsible for both the strategy and the day-to-day execution of the roadmap, working cross functionally with Engineering, Architecture, Product and other departmental colleagues to achieve our goals. 

As a Product Manager at Trainline, you will...🚄 

  • Have relevant experience in product management ideally with experience in customer identity & access management initiatives.
  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for CIAM to support the company’s goals for growth, security, and customer satisfaction. 
  • Stay informed about trends in identity management, authentication, authorisation and privacy to shape future-proof solutions. Advocating for CIAM needs and investments across the organization. 
  • Key partnerships with counterparts within Product, Engineering, Architecture and Data to set quarterly OKRs and prioritise delivery outcomes for this area to achieve overall company goals.
  • This role has responsibility 1 Engineering squad whose members are based in London
  • Generate ideas championing an outcome driven approach, comprehensively exploring options and using data to resolve ambiguity.
  • Be passionate about customer needs. You have strong empathy and are the customer advocate. You evaluate and understand customer insights and align them to the work your team is delivering to ensure user needs are met. 
  • Triangulate multiple signals using data tools to generate insights, communicate hypotheses to wider audience and share learnings from both successes and failures.
  • Concise and effective communication with team providing context and strategy. 
  • Develop relationships to regularly engage, communicate, and influence peers and business partners through clear, confident articulation of the “why”, through both written and confident verbal presentation. Making technical complexities easy to understand.
  • You understand the value of learning fast and can communicate the hypothesis, insight, success, and failure to a wider audience. 
  • Live the Trainline values and behaviours, demonstrating accountability for your Product remit, building a healthy and collaborative Product and Engineering organisation culture 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Product Management role in a tech business
  • Worked in a fast-paced environment where you’ve had to think on your feet and bring people together to problem solve
  • In depth experience of customer centric thinking through insights, data and experimentation. 
  • Analytical thinking and decision making, able to weigh up conflicting priorities and make the right decision using a balance of data inputs
  • Worked with a full-stack team or led delivery coordination across multiple teams
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Agile frameworks, writing user stories, setting sprint goals and collaborating with teams on acceptance criteria
  • Experience in Customer Identity & Access Management protocols, data privacy regulations and API integrations would be beneficial
