LOCATION: Leeds, Manchester

HOURS: Full-time – 35 hours

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

What you’ll be doing…

We’re looking for Infrastructure Specialist to join our Private Cloud Platform, specialising in Middleware technologies, with a particular focus on IBM MQ and DevOps CI/CD.
You’ll have a unique opportunity to be part of an ambitious team driving our technology modernisation agenda, enabling us to become the biggest FinTech in the UK. This role is firmly focused on automation‑first platform engineering. Assuming responsibility for crafting how middleware platforms, including MQ, DataPower and Websphere are built, deployed and operated. This will be done through automated CI/CD and infrastructure‑as‑code workflows that reduce manual intervention and allow safe, repeatable change at scale.
We’re seeking highly motivated, innovative, hands-on Infrastructure Specialist to help define and deliver the next generation of middleware platforms across our hybrid Private Cloud.

Why Join us?

What we’re looking for?

Proven experience as an Infrastructure or Platform Engineer working in a hybrid cloud environment, with strong middleware and automation expertise.

Essential:

  • Strong experience with Middleware technologies, preferably IBM MQ and including one or more of the following:  IBM DataPower, Websphere

  • Experience designing and operating platforms using automation and infrastructure‑as‑code

  • CI/CD tooling experience (GitLab / GitHub Functions / Jenkins / Harness)

  • Source Code Management (Git / GitHub)

  • Understanding of security, compliance and resilience in enterprise environments

  • Experience supporting production platforms with high availability and performance requirements

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift or other enterprise Kubernetes platforms

  • Experience with Operators (especially IBM Operators on OpenShift)

  • VMware platform experience (vSphere, NSX, ARIA suite)

  • Observability and monitoring tooling (e.g. Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana)

  • Experience modernising legacy middleware platforms towards cloud‑native patterns

  • Scripting and automation (e.g. Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform)
