About Skyscanner

Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges ✈️. That's why we've spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole “47 browser tabs open” phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily 💻.

Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet's go-to travel hack accessible

Our vision? To be the world's number one travel ally. (Ambitious? 💪 Yes, but, hey, that's what got us here)

About the role
(Hybrid)

Big questions, real impact: As a Principal Strategy Manager, you’ll sit at the sharp end of Skyscanner’s biggest decisions- the kind that shape where we play, how we win, and what we build next.

A true strategic partner: You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with senior leaders across the business, helping them cut through complexity, prioritise what matters most, and move from debate to decision.

From thinking to doing: This isn’t strategy that lives in a slide deck. You’ll stay close to delivery, helping teams turn bold ideas into real outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading strategic development: You’ll own priority strategy topics, from growth opportunities and vertical strategy to AI leadership and tech productivity.
  • Partnering with senior leaders: You’ll collaborate across Product, Engineering, Commercial, Marketing, Finance and Data to align on the what and the how.
  • Supporting top-level decisions: You’ll equip the C-suite and Board with clear narratives, sharp analysis and confident recommendations.
  • Building robust business cases: You’ll create decision frameworks covering market sizing, competitive analysis, scenarios and ROI/value modelling.
  • Turning strategy into action: You’ll translate strategy into initiatives, metrics, milestones and ownership, and stay involved through delivery.
  • Running high-trust collaboration: You’ll lead small cross-functional squads, facilitate workshops and keep diverse stakeholders aligned.
  • Simplifying the complex: You’ll turn messy inputs into crisp messages and data into stories people can actually act on.

About you

  • Strategically sharp: You bring a strong toolkit - hypothesis-driven problem solving, market and competitive analysis, segmentation and financial modelling.
  • Action-oriented: You know how to connect big-picture strategy to practical plans, trade-offs and delivery — and you’ve got examples to prove it.
  • Comfortable with senior stakeholders: You can influence without authority and build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • A confident communicator: You craft compelling, executive-ready stories (written and slides) and present them with clarity and confidence.
  • A natural leader: You plan, sequence, manage risks and facilitate workshops that turn many opinions into decisions.
  • Thrive in ambiguity: You’re calm when the path isn’t clear and enjoy bringing structure to the unknown.
  • Seasoned in high-rigour strategy environments: you have developed your craft in roles requiring pace, analytical depth, and strong judgement.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in consulting (e.g. Senior Associate or Engagement Manager level ), supported by  several years in industry with hands-on experience applying strategy. We are open to candidates from outside travel, including marketplaces, e-commerce, startups, and related sectors.
  • Travel-tech curiosity is a plus, but travel experience is not a requirement
