At Omnea, we’re reinventing how enterprise businesses operate, starting with the most painful parts: procurement – where a single purchase can drag on for months, trigger 50+ emails, and pull in Finance, Legal, Security, and IT just to get something approved.
We’ve raised $75M from Khosla Ventures, Insight Partners, and Accel to change that. Our AI-native platform connects every person, step, and system so buying is fast, safe, and efficient – one place to request, automated approvals and renewals, real-time supplier risk, and complete spend visibility.
It's a $7B+ untapped market, and our traction reflects the scale of the opportunity: we’ve 10x’d ARR to double-digit millions in 18 months and are trusted by global enterprises like Spotify, MongoDB, Monzo, and Albertsons. We’re now the 4th fastest growing startup in Europe.
Our team previously scaled Tessian (cybersecurity tech, backed by Sequoia, Balderton, Accel, acquired post-Series C), and our team includes ex-founders operators who’ve grown unicorns, shipped world-class products, and executed at the highest levels. You’ll work alongside leaders like Ben, Abs, Sabrina, and Rebe.
Find out more about the team and life at Omnea here. What We're Looking ForWe're seeking an outstanding, product-focused full-stack software engineer to join our engineering team and help scale Omnea. With plans to grow from double-digit customers to over 200 enterprise clients and increase our revenue tenfold within the next 2–3 years, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our product, team, and company as we move from ‘start-up’ to ‘scale-up.’
You’ll be joining at a key inflection point. We recently secured $50M in Series B funding from Khosla Ventures, Insight Partners, Accel, Point Nine, and First Round Capital. In the past year, we grew revenue 5x, tripled our customer base, and maintained over 99% retention with enterprises like Spotify, Wise, Albertsons, Adecco, and McAfee. Our high-calibre, tight-knit team reflects a rigorous hiring process—over 10,000 interviews led to our first 50 Omneans.
Now, we’re scaling rapidly and leading the way in the AI Supplier Relationship Management category. We seek top software engineers to help make procurement a true competitive advantage!
You'll participate in our pair-programming interview stage using JavaScript or TypeScript, and you'll be assessed as if that is your primary language. As this is a full-stack role, it isn't suited for those with experience limited to frontend, backend, devops/platform, or another language (such as Java).
While we value skills above years, candidates at this level typically bring around 12–15+ years of software engineering experience.
As a Principal Engineer at Omnea, you'll remain hands-on—contributing code and leading through technical execution and ownership, not just through meetings or high-level architecture discussions.
What Can You Expect in Our Tech Team?Join a Skilled Team: Be part of one of Europe's fastest-growing early-stage companies, working alongside experienced full-stack product engineers from top technology backgrounds.
Direct Product Impact: Influence core product decisions by helping prioritize the roadmap, define project scopes, and set the technical direction. You’ll have a say in product strategy, user experience, and technical feasibility, ensuring our roadmap leads to success.
Work with Modern Tech: Our stack uses TypeScript with React & Material UI, Postgres, Hasura, and AWS Serverless technologies such as Lambda, DynamoDB, and EventBridge, all managed via AWS CDK & SST. We monitor with Sentry, Lumigo, and LogRocket, and use GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment.
End-to-End Ownership: Own your projects from product and design decisions through deployment, monitoring, and impact measurement. Work across the stack—from DevOps to UI—driving continuous improvement.
Continuous Delivery: We deploy small, incremental changes to production multiple times a day, keeping our systems agile and responsive to customer needs and technical challenges.
Scalability Challenges: As we grow from tens to hundreds of customers and expand into new product domains, you'll help scale our product, architecture, and processes while maintaining performance and reliability.
Collaboration & Autonomy: Lead your projects independently and make key decisions, benefiting from a collaborative, high-trust team environment that unites for challenging problems.
Customers at the Centre: We value quick and thoughtful responses to customer feedback and issues. You’ll engage directly with customers, understand their experiences, and iterate to deliver solutions that delight them.
You’re experienced (typically 12–15+ years) in building web apps, having designed and implemented full-stack features from start to finish using TypeScript (and ideally AWS).
You focus on impact: You've led engineering efforts for critical systems, worked with advanced AWS, IaC, observability, and quality tools, and you're eager to bring this mindset to an early-stage startup.
You know what excellence looks like: You build highly reliable, well-architected products with quality, observability, and redundancy always in mind.
You’re ready to get things done: You enjoy all aspects of building a product, are comfortable moving across the stack, love problem-solving, think from first principles, and learn new skills quickly.
You crave ownership: You gravitate toward complex engineering challenges and are eager to take on major projects—whether deepening your DevOps or SRE skills or taking responsibility for key initiatives.
You help build the team: You enjoy maximising team performance by learning from others, providing feedback, mentoring, and elevating those around you.
You’re comfortable with ambiguity: You confidently tackle open-ended problems and make decisions independently, always supported by an experienced team.
Nice-to-haves that really stand out:
You’ve excelled in another area—academics, sports, work, or elsewhere—demonstrating your habit of going above and beyond.
Your passion for engineering extends beyond work. You contribute to open-source projects or work on side projects simply for the love of it. You’re confident solving ambiguous problems and consistently produce high-quality code.
