World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Scientist Project Leader to join our R&D team to provide scientific expertise and leadership across the ADC product range for technical collaboration with Engineering, Regulatory, Commercial, Quality, Clinical Affairs & Research & Development organisations worldwide.
Managing a small team, your main responsibilities will include leading a technical workstream – providing day to day direction, problem solving, trial design support etc around new technologies in the field of small product, large volume manufacturing. The role will see you have close links with Sensor Development and Sensor Innovation teams to help identify workstreams in the space of New Product Development and Transfer.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual, able to manage a multitude of interrelated activities with varying priorities, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment. You will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with exposure to prior collaboration with both multiple internal cross-functional groups and external contacts, including industry technology leaders. You will also demonstrate natural leadership abilities – we’re looking for someone who not only wants to lead on technical projects, but also nurture, grow and develop their team to ensure continued success for all parties. You will be degree qualified, and ideally bring experience in combination devices and micro-scale manufacturing technologies.
