Company Description

At Wise we’re building money without borders, for people without borders. Our mission is to make moving money around the world instant, transparent, convenient and eventually free. Wise now has millions of customers all over the world who trust us to manage their money and make it easier to live an international life. Sending, receiving, spending and holding - anywhere in the world. The “holding” part is where Wise Assets plays a role and we’re looking for a Growth Manager to join the team.

Job Description

Your Mission:

In this pivotal role, you'll be working as part of the Europe and UK regional team. This role will focus on the effectiveness of our controls to prevent financial crime. You will work closely with the team to understand our overarching control framework, including both global and region specific controls, key enhancement opportunities and work on implementing these. You will also be responsible for our Key Risk Indicators for Europe and the UK - ensuring that they stay within our risk appetite. While enhancing new controls or developing new ones, you will also ensure that these controls are scalable and mitigate customer friction by working closely with the onboarding experience team. You will also work closely with our global due diligence and financial crime prevention teams, leveraging improvements being implemented at a global level to enhance Europe and the UK’s control framework.

Your Role:

  • Own the effectiveness of the entire control framework used by Wise in Europe and the UK to prevent financial crime

  • Identify key opportunities for enhancements, based on audits, internal reviews and market trends to further strengthen Wise’s control framework

  • Own the Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for the region and proactively solve for KRIs that are on a negative trend or out of risk appetite

  • Based on above, build a roadmap for the team that significantly improves the effectiveness of our controls

  • Work closely with other teams within the Europe and UK squad and with global teams - ensuring we have the right controls in place for new products and features

  • Own the customisation of global controls to ensure they adequately address specific regional risks in Europe and the UK

  • Ensure our controls are scalable in order to reduce the fee customers have to pay

This Role Will Give You the Opportunity to:

  • Have a significant impact on the safety and security of Wise and its customers

  • Work with a talented, diverse team to develop and implement innovative ways to prevent financial crime

  • Make data-driven decisions that significantly improve our service and product offerings for businesses and consumers.

  • Influence and motivate a cross-functional team, fostering a culture of innovation, responsiveness, and excellence.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in complex product development in heavily regulated industries.

  • Strong analytical ability to understand complex financial crime vectors and effectiveness of mitigating controls.

  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration, influencing roadmap of other teams working on similar problem spaces

  • Ability to zoom out and think about the broader problem and the impact of multiple variables that influence the solution

  • Excellent communication skills, proficient in English, capable of working effectively in a diverse, multinational environment.

Additional Information

Our Offer

  • Base salary: 115,000 - 130,000 GBP gross annually (based on experience, level & interview outcomes)

  • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) & numerous amount of other benefits: https://www.wise.jobs/2020/07/07/benefits-in-our-london-office/
