The Alternatives Account Management team is a core component of the Prime Financial Services (PFS) business. The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for Hedge Fund clients, delivering expert guidance across the full PFS product suite: Cash Prime Brokerage, Synthetic Prime Brokerage, Fixed Income Prime Brokerage, Foreign Exchange Prime Brokerage, Exchange-Traded Derivatives Clearing and OTC Derivatives Clearing.

Requires a commercial mindset and a solutions-oriented approach to achieve optimal outcomes for both clients and the firm. The Account Manager develops a deep understanding of each client’s business and industry landscape, proactively identifying challenges and leveraging specialist knowledge of the PFS platform to deliver tailored solutions. Close partnership with clients and internal stakeholders including Sales and Trading is essential to drive client satisfaction and support the strategic objectives of the PFS business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for the PFS platform for Hedge Fund clients, providing expert guidance and ensuring high-quality delivery across the PFS product suite. 
  • Drive commercial outcomes by partnering with Sales and Trading as the expert on the platform and a strong understanding of the client business footprint within PFS. This involves input to pricing proposals through margin simulations, fee-based revenue setting and profitability analysis as well as knowing the client’s unique structures and service requirements. 
  • Build a comprehensive understanding of each client’s organization, strategy, and objectives to ensure their interests are well represented and the PFS platform is optimally utilized.
  • Respond to client requests for product enhancements creatively, seek to leverage the current platform to meet requirements, where required assist to design new solutions in partnership with Product Development. 
  • Monitor and respond to client feedback on the platform, closely track client sentiment and work with Operations to ensure the service model is optimal. 
  • Oversee the execution of key lifecycle events, lead client engagements for regulatory change initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment of client expectations.
  • Maintain and strengthen the control framework, assess and manage operational risk, and serve as an escalation point for client issues.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Strong understanding of the Prime Financial Services product suite, expertise necessary in financing or clearing products. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional client service, with the ability to represent the firm and build enduring client relationships.
  • Proven track record of operational excellence, executing with precision, urgency, and discipline, while maintaining robust internal governance and controls.
  • Effective team player who contributes to collective success, while also operating as a strong individual contributor.
  • Proactive self-starter, continuously seeking to expand their knowledge, set ambitious objectives, and leverage personal expertise to achieve results.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, draw logical conclusions, and support decision-making.
  • Commercially astute, able to approach challenges with a business-owner mindset, collaborate to deliver optimal outcomes, and confidently present complex topics to internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Degree educated; a finance related degree is preferential but not essential.
  • Experience within Prime Brokerage or Clearing is a significant advantage.
  • Industry experience with a demonstrable track record of delivery with a strong client focus.

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
