Pricing Associate, Pension Risk Transfer

Corporate Pension Solutions (CPS) is a division within M&G Life with a remit to design and deliver bulk purchase annuities and alternative de-risking products for Defined Benefit pension schemes. Due to ongoing success and a strong opportunity set, the team is adding headcount in a number of areas.

The remit of the Pricing team is broad and the successful candidate will have exposure to an extremely wide variety of projects. CPS has ambitious new business targets and is looking for exceptional people who will help deliver results.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Produce on end-to-end pricing for BPAs and other de risking solutions

  • Working with colleagues from across the business and outsourcing partners to integrate commercial, investment, longevity, reinsurance, balance sheet management and structuring workstreams into pricing projects

  • Supporting team management and senior stakeholders across the business with technical analysis, strategy, business planning and ad hoc queries

  • Supporting distribution and transaction management colleagues with the production of high quality client deliverables and wider relationship management activities

  • Developing new and enhanced modelling capability, including tech solutions across the CPS pricing infrastructure

  • Supporting pricing development of novel bulk annuity transaction structures, reinsurance solutions, and new product lines

  • Work on Pricing projects run in partnership with the Treasury and Investment Office, Finance Strategy & Finance Reporting teams

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Commercially minded Student Actuary with exceptional technical skills

  • Experience of bulk annuity pricing, funded reinsurance, longevity reinsurance, life insurance balance sheet management or modelling UK DB Pensions required

  • Understanding of Solvency II/UK for life insurance, in particular balance sheet construction, liability discounting, asset strategy & ALM valuable

  • Ambitious and self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative/prioritise workload to strict deadlines

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
