This role will drive awareness and understanding of Super Group’s business - including Betway (a global sportsbook) and Spin (a multi-brand casino) – highlighting products, key messages, big winners, sponsorship and partnership deals. In order to build stronger engagement with the business from media, consumers and throughout the gaming industry.

What you’ll be doing

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:

  • The development and implementation of the consumer PR strategy for Super Group’s brands, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media and fulfilling paid for media opportunities on behalf of Marketing teams.
  • Developing the global strategic approach to Consumer PR to generate global brand awareness.
  • Assisting the Head of External Communications with additional corporate messaging and crisis communications.
  • Supporting in the adaptation and localisation of the global strategy for local markets.
  • Working closely with channels in the Marketing and Internal Communications teams to create and deliver accurate, on-brand sports information and communications.
  • Working with the multi-channel teams and key media partners to ensure media opportunities are maximised.
  • Regular interaction with the media, including answering media queries and serving as spokesperson for interviews surrounding key sporting events.
  • Leveraging existing media relationships and cultivate new relationships with key business journalists and industry media.
  • Identifying potential strategic partner relationships and leveraging rights within existing partnerships and brand ambassador deals to further media coverage from them.
  • The identification of globally relevant media outlets to deliver coverage across target media channels, in accordance with the global marketing objectives.
  • Achieving highest visibility for in print, broadcast, TV, and online media outlets.
  • Attending and supporting relevant sporting fixtures and events out of hours and to manage media opportunities, media invites and presence on the day.
  • Coordinating global public relations activities.
  • Managing agency output and relationships as well as supporting local requirements.
  • Creating content for press releases, by-line articles and keynote presentations.
  • Monitoring, analysing and communicating PR and program results against business goals on a regular basis.

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table

The necessary skills that we require for this role include:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with a focus on achieving shared goals
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations
  • Experience in strategic communication within the UK media industry
  • Experience in a media, sporting, commercial or public relations environment
  • Record of managing campaigns for a customer driven business
  • Project management skills
  • Consumer awareness
  • Ability to strategically lead and influence stakeholders

Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve

It would be great if you also have some the following skills:

  • Previous experience in the sports marketing industry
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry, preferably gaming
