Who we are: 

The public relations and communications team at The Trade Desk plays a vital role in elevating the company’s profile through compelling storytelling, high-impact media engagement and strategic external events that resonate with key audiences. As a link between the organization and external audiences, we work collaboratively across the business to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders. We manage press relations, corporate messaging, and media opportunities, as well as support executives with speaking engagements at business conferences and industry events.  

What you’ll do:

The Trade Desk is looking for a skilled communications professional to elevate the company profile through impactful storylines that resonate with major trade publications, national and business media. This role will work cross-functionally with key internal stakeholders to develop and execute communications programs that amplify compelling narratives and drive media and external engagement.

The candidate will have experience managing a variety of projects and a strong focus in media relations, pitch development and writing skills. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for executive communications activities such as prepping executives for interviews, external events, speaking engagements, and presentations. 

The candidate should possess exceptional attention to detail, a penchant for working well under pressure, and have a deep passion for creating work with impact. This person should be a self-starter, able to work independently and collaborate with other team members and stakeholders locally and across different regions and time zones.


In this role, you will: 


  • Lead and develop content in all formats including press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, and Q&As
  • Support the creation and implementation of strategic PR plans that drive awareness of The Trade Desk and articulate the vision and value of the company
  • Drive proactive press coverage in support of The Trade Desk, including major trade publications and national business press, leveraging existing relationships and building new ones
  • Support executives in media interviews, external speaking engagements and opportunities for thought leadership 
  • Close coordination with our external PR agency to ensure focus on strategic, high-priority initiatives and manage an effective press calendar
  • Partner with various stakeholders to project manage executive communications and key events 
  • Assist communications team to support business and marketing leaders on the creation, development and execution of media and partner marketing strategies
  • Coordinate with EMEA marketing and global communications colleagues to ensure alignment on content, news releases, product launches, key events, and press interviews

Who you are:

  • We are looking for a strategic thinker, writer and media relations professional with 5+ years in B2B in-house PR or agency experience
  • Proficient language skills in German or French would be beneficial, but not mandatory
  • Current experience pitching proactive stories and managing media relationships 
  • Eagerness to learn and bring new ideas to a growing team
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to connect tactical pieces to the success of a big picture program
  • Effective time management skills with ability to multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, including data analysis, problem solving and attention to detail
  • Positive, upbeat, collaborative, results-driven attitude
  • Desire to be part of a fast-moving, hypergrowth company 
  • Full-hearted and authentic, motivated by strong workplace relationships and an environment where your whole self is appreciated and affirmed
  • Experience working in information technology organizations, software, marketing technology, advertising technology, or knowledge of the data and technology businesses within the advertising industry are preferred
