The Role
The Specialist role encompasses elements of consultancy, high-level subcat management & strategy, project management, process review and training delivery. It is reserved strictly for people with demonstrated commercial acumen, excellent subcat strategy execution, and strong project delivery.
In-depth knowledge of at least one business model, and with a broad understanding of several others. These individuals are experienced team members who demonstrate a wide array of skills and techniques relating to stakeholder management, coaching, specialist product knowledge and are able to troubleshoot complex problems beyond the understanding of more junior colleagues.
They will be expected to contribute to and lead high-level projects with multiple stakeholders across different business areas including (but not limited to) disposition data, marketing strategy best practice and training, and tech product delivery.
They will possess extremely strong commercial management skills and will be capable of delivering in the most complex and challenging of circumstances. These individuals are tasked with ensuring that our most complex and important subcats are delivered with maximum Client and MVF value in mind, supporting managers and Commercial Heads where needed and ensuring new starter training is world-class.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Key Subcat Management (This will include managing and exceeding targets for important/complex high GP contributing Subcats and/or potentially improving the performance of underperforming high potential Subcats)
  2. Supports Commercial Director by leading on key projects outlined in the sub-division roadmap
  3. Leads on the strategy to deliver client performance goals (ROI) from Subcat delivery through working closely with marketing. Defines and ensures MACS team members adhere to best practice strategy on analyzing and interpreting client disposition and creating effective strategies and targets for Biddable
  4. Identifies and delivers on high-impact Subcat or Portfolio opportunities
  5. Defines and is an expert in subcat strategy and uses this to coach and support Analysts and Senior Analysts across the team.
  6. Suggests process improvements or opportunities for automation in relation to Subcat management activities (and work with the Tech/Data teams to ensure these are delivered to the team with maximum value)
  7. Has expert product/category knowledge and can helicopter between relevant sub-divisions to ensure knowledge is shared and learnings are maximised
  8. Attends Analyst assessments (where required) across sub-divisions, to provide feedback, and ensure standards across sub-divisions are maintained. This person will often have a unique and granular view of comparable Analyst performance and comparable subcat strategy.
  9. Offers support to sub-division Manager and Commercial Director
  10. If required, will mentor 1-2 direct reports
  11. Will train new starters and Analysts in key subcat delivery areas, as well as relevant platforms
  12. Ensures that outstanding subcat strategy and learning is highlighted and shared in relevant forums for maximum engagement and uptake
  13. Seeks and provides ongoing feedback to team members.
  14. Assesses video interviews and participates in 1st round MACS Analyst interviews
