About Us

Let’s go on an adventure together!

Hey there, we’re G Adventures. We’re one of the world’s leading small group travel companies, and we’ve always believed that travel isn’t just about where you go — it’s about how it changes you.

For the last 35 years, we’ve set out to do things differently. No cookie-cutter tours. No giant buses or cruise ships. And not to mention, as few selfie sticks as possible. Just real humans, travelling your heart out across the world with open minds and a non-stop desire to make our planet better, simply by exploring it.

At G Adventures, our DNA (or GNA, if you will) is built on belonging — where bringing your authentic self to work every day isn’t just accepted, it’s downright celebrated. For our office crew — you wanna rock a t-shirt with your dog’s face on it? We say go for it. For our Chief Experience Officers —  you wanna hit the road and call some of the most epic places on Earth your home office? We love that — and we’ve got you. Wanna spend your days with people you genuinely like? Us too — and we’re pretty sure you’ll fit right in, wherever that is.

Now about that career of yours — this is the kind of place where you can spread your wings and truly grow into your role. The best part? You get to do it all alongside a passionate, freakishly talented, one-of-a-kind bunch excited to produce top-notch work and spread a ridiculous amount of goodness at the same time.

Feel like this could be the right fit? We think so too, and we’re already way too excited to meet you.

About The Role

This is a rare opportunity for a talented, connected and passionate communications professional to lead G Adventures' communications across the EMEA region (UK, Ireland and DACH regions) during a 16-month maternity cover.

As the regional communications lead, you'll take the reins of one of our most established and successful PR markets, working with some of the UK's best travel, consumer, business and broadcast media while helping to shape communications across Europe. You'll have access to an incredible pipeline of stories, innovative product launches, inspiring community tourism initiatives and thought leadership opportunities, all while working alongside an award-winning global communications team.

We're looking for someone who is ready to hit the ground running. You'll be a self-starter with outstanding media relationships, a strong understanding of the travel industry and an instinct for identifying stories that capture attention. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic planning with day-to-day media relations, while helping maintain G Adventures' position as the world's leading adventure travel company and pioneer of community tourism.

Based within our vibrant London office three days a week (Tuesday - Thursday), you’ll be surrounded by an energetic local team of marketers, sales, operations and partnerships colleagues who are passionate about travel, purpose and having fun while they work. Reporting into the global marketing team based in Toronto, you’ll be part of a truly global communications function, working alongside regional Communications Managers across North America, Australia and beyond.

What you’ll be doing:

No two days are ever the same at G Adventures, but your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement the communications strategy for the EMEA region in line with the global communications vision, continuing to position G Adventures as the leader in adventure travel and the pioneer of community tourism.

  • Act as the communications expert for the region, identifying opportunities to raise awareness of G Adventures through strategic media relations, partnerships and thought leadership.

  • Build on G Adventures' strong reputation by securing impactful coverage across consumer, trade, business and broadcast media, with a particular focus on the UK and DACH while supporting wider EMEA activity.

  • Have a nose for a great story, working closely with stakeholders across the business to uncover newsworthy announcements, human-interest stories, data-led campaigns and timely media opportunities.

  • Write and distribute press releases, targeted pitches, opinion pieces and other media materials that generate meaningful coverage.

  • Develop and execute creative PR campaigns and integrated communications initiatives alongside the regional marketing and global communications teams.

  • Launch major business initiatives, product launches and campaigns alongside Founder Bruce Poon Tip and other senior leaders, developing communications plans that maximise awareness and impact across the region.

  • Secure and support interviews, speaking opportunities, thought leadership and media appearances for senior leaders, including Founder Bruce Poon Tip, Managing Director Brian Young and other company spokespeople.

  • Plan, coordinate and deliver both small and large-scale media, consumer and industry events across the region, working closely with the regional marketing and global communications teams to ensure flawless execution and maximum PR impact.

  • Work closely with Planeterra, G Adventures' non-profit partner, to share inspiring stories that demonstrate the positive impact of community tourism around the world.

  • Manage all press office activity, responding quickly to media enquiries, maintaining press lists, monitoring coverage and building strong journalist relationships.

  • Plan and deliver individual and group press trips for media and content creators across the UK and wider DACH region.

  • Develop strategic partnerships with content creators, ensuring campaigns deliver measurable business outcomes and align with wider marketing objectives.

  • Manage G Adventures' PR agency in Germany, ensuring DACH activity aligns with the global communications strategy and delivers measurable results.

  • Maintain and grow relationships with tourism boards, airline partners, travel organisations and other strategic partners to maximise collaborative storytelling opportunities.

  • Identify, curate and submit industry award entries to maintain G Adventures' strong track record of recognition.

  • Support regional marketing and sales teams through consumer, trade and industry events, representing G Adventures across the travel industry.

  • Report regularly on communications performance, sharing insights, learnings and measurable results against agreed KPIs.

  • Work alongside the global critical incident team to develop and deliver media responses during crisis situations when required.

What we’re looking for:

We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with excellent execution and genuinely loves telling stories.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years' experience in PR or communications, either agency or in-house.
