PPA Originator

We are seeking a dynamic Originator with commercial ‘savviness’ to help drive growth in PPA transactions and to develop on our current proposition in the market.

Essential functions of the job:  

• Develop Brook Green’s UK trading activity by originating transactions in the UK renewable power markets  

• Build and sustain BGS’s PPA offtake market presence by successfully leveraging new and existing relationships  

• Negotiation of sales and structuring efforts for PPA contracts and management of post transaction relationship  

• Ensure any transactions are compliant with any internal or external standards and policies  

• Work closely with traders and the commercial team to develop new products and solutions  

• Remain highly informed about market trends and changes to policy  

• Contribute to overall strategic direction of the origination function as part of the wider business  

• Contribute proactively to the BGS PPA growth strategy  

• Collaborate and contribute to overall team objectives  

• Metrics for success will include revenue generation, pipeline growth, client onboarding, counterparties set up, and customer satisfaction

Experience required:  
Proven experience in the following areas is beneficial to your application:  

• 1-5 years of experience in energy trading, renewable energy markets or PPA origination, ideally within UK markets

• Commercial experience gained in a similar position demonstrating impeccable judgement, highly effective communication skills and a results orientated mindset  

• Demonstrated experience in negotiating and transacting gas and power structured products including PPAs  

• A demonstrated track-record of successfully closed transactions  

• Energy, or utilities experience preferred
