We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marsh Risk Consulting team at Marsh Risk. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The team will look at full time or part time applications.
Marsh’s actuarial team is recruiting an actuary with experience in loss reserving across multiple classes of insurance to apply to our industry leading insurance facilities. Marsh’s actuarial team specialises in delivering reserving, pricing and performance analysis to clients and insurance facilities across multiple classes of insurance and sectors. The individual will work within a team of over 20 colleagues and will report into the actuarial team leader. The individual will work closely with the actuarial team leader and will receive coaching and development in performance analysis for insurance portfolios.
We will count on you to:
- Be responsible for delivery and sign-off of reserving analysis (IBNR derivation, equalisation reserve and variability analysis) for all lines of insurance underwritten through Marsh Fast Track, a first of its kind global facility, covering 15+ lines of business including casualty, property (cat and non-cat) and specialty lines
- Implement reserving insights across Marsh’s additional insurance facilities
- Review business plan models and forecasts, including retention and Risk Adjusted Rate Change metrics
- Support the actuarial team leader in presenting the actuarial findings to the facility carriers and respond to questions they have on the historical and future performance of the facility
- Present the actuarial findings to senior stakeholders within Marsh
- Support the Actuarial Fast Track Leader establish, review and deliver the strategy
What you need to have:
- Broad loss reserving experience and ability to generate portfolio insights from these analyses
- Experience analysing the performance of a wide range of insurance classes including specialty lines
- Experience in applying a variety of loss reserving methods/techniques.
- Actuarial background, with 6+ years of experience, although being a qualified actuary is not essential
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate the actuarial insights to both actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders
