General Requirements  

As a Planner specializing in Data Centre Projects, you will take on a critical role within the planning and scheduling of multiple large-scale data center construction projects. Your knowledge of project management, construction scheduling, and data center infrastructure will be pivotal in ensuring the efficient execution and timely completion of these high-impact projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain comprehensive construction plans and schedules tailored to data center needs. 

This key role will report into the Planning Director and allow a seamless flow of information from the project back int the wider business. The Planning Manager will hold responsibility for ensuring the accuracy & integrity of the Preconstruction schedules are as per VDC requirements. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Project Portfolio Planning and Scheduling: 

  • Develop project plans and schedules for multiple data center projects concurrently. 

  • Utilize advanced scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) to create and update project schedules, ensuring alignment with client requirements and contractual obligations. 

Resource Optimization: 

  • Identify resource optimization opportunities and propose strategies to enhance efficiency and meet aggressive project timelines. 

Risk Assessment and Proactive Mitigation: 

  • Drive comprehensive risk assessments for each pre- con project in the portfolio, focusing on schedule risks unique to data center construction. 

  • Participate in proactive mitigation plans to address potential disruptions and delays, communicating them effectively to project stakeholders. 

Progress Monitoring Across Projects: 

  • Implement robust monitoring processes to track the progress of multiple projects against established schedules. 

  • Provide frequent updates on project status, deviations, and potential schedule impacts to senior management and project teams. 

Cross-Project Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Promote effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders for all data center projects. 

  • Promote regular cross-project meetings to review schedules, address issues, and provide comprehensive updates. 

Quality Assurance and Compliance: 

  • Ensure that all pre-construction plans for projects align with industry & VDC Specific standards, safety regulations, and stringent quality control guidelines. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio. 

Benchmarking and Future Initiatives  

  • Work closely with project teams to collate accurate as built project information 

  • Drive the communication of benchmarking in a accessible and collaborative way to inform the planning team and wider business of previously achieved durations 

Comprehensive Documentation and Reporting: 

  • Maintain meticulous records of project schedules, changes, and communications for the entire project portfolio. 

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
