Role description:

The People Advisor plays a key role in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused People service across the UK, Ireland and Nordics.

The role acts as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on People policies, processes and programmes, ensuring consistency, compliance and an exceptional employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.

Working closely with the People Services Manager, People Partners, Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) and Centres of Excellence, the People Advisor supports the effective delivery of People Services, drives continuous improvement initiatives and identifies opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiency and enhance service delivery across the region.

Role accountabilities:

People Services Delivery

  • Provide timely and accurate advice to managers and employees on People policies, processes and procedures.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality People Services across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contractual changes, family leave, mobility, organisational changes and offboarding.
  • Act as a key point of contact for managers and employees, ensuring queries are resolved efficiently and consistently.
  • Signpost and escalate employee relations matters to the appropriate Employee Relations COE where required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, governance requirements and employment legislation.

    Shared Services Governance & Capability

  • Work closely with the GSSC to ensure the business receives an efficient, accurate and customer-focused People Administration service.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex operational queries and process-related issues.
  • Partner with GSSC Team Leaders to build capability and improve knowledge within the Shared Services team.
  • Monitor service quality and identify opportunities to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.

    Process Improvement & Employee Experience

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate People processes.
  • Lead and support initiatives that improve efficiency, service delivery and employee experience.
  • Support the implementation of new systems, tools and technologies within the People function.
  • Develop guidance materials, process documentation and knowledge articles to support managers and employees.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture across People Services.

    Projects & Change Support

  • Support organisational initiatives including restructures, acquisitions, integrations, office moves and transformation programmes.
  • Coordinate People-related activities to ensure a smooth employee experience during periods of change.
  • Work collaboratively with People Partners, Centres of Excellence and business stakeholders to deliver key People projects.

    Subject Matter Expertise

  • Develop specialist knowledge in designated People Services areas such as Global Mobility, Family-Friendly Policies, Benefits Administration or Workforce Administration.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, supporting managers, employees and the wider People function.
  • Manage Global Mobility processes, including Skilled Worker visas, sponsorship requirements, visa extensions and liaison with external immigration providers.
  • Prepare employee documentation, guidance and communications relating to assigned specialist areas.

    Data, Reporting & Governance

  • Maintain accurate employee data and support data integrity initiatives.
  • Analyse People data and trends to identify service improvements and areas of focus.
  • Support audits, compliance activities and governance requirements.
  • Produce reports and insights to support decision-making within the People function.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong People Operations, HR Shared Services or People Advisory experience within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. 
  • Experience supporting managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle. 
  • Sound understanding of People policies, processes and employment practices. 
  • Experience working with HR systems, case management tools and people data. 
  • Demonstrable experience driving process improvements and service enhancements. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. 
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making. 
  • Experience supporting multi-country populations would be advantageous. 
  • Experience of Global Mobility and immigration processes would be advantageous.
  • CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualified (or working towards qualification) would be considered an advantage
