monday.com is the AI work platform powering the most ambitious teams. 250,000+ customers across departments use us to bring people, workflows, and AI agents together on one flexible platform where AI doesn't just assist, it executes. We move fast, build things that matter, and foster an ownership-driven culture where you're empowered to shape how organisations work and outpace their competition.

We're creating a new People Partner & Employee Relations Lead role on the EMEA People team to build out our Employee Relations and HR Compliance capability across the region, alongside a partial People Partner support role. This is roughly a 60% ER & Compliance / 40% HRBP split.

Countries currently in scope: UK, France, Germany, Poland, Netherlands and Switzerland.

About The Role

As our EMEA footprint has grown, so has the complexity of managing employee relations and statutory compliance consistently in multiple jurisdictions. This role will own that complexity: handling ER casework end-to-end, lead works council activity, keeping us compliant with local labor law and data privacy requirements, and making sure our policies and manager practices hold up across every country we operate in.

You'll work independently to drive ER cases and compliance projects to resolution, while partnering closely with People Partners, Legal, and local leadership. You'll also have Business Partner responsibility for a defined set of groups, so you'll need to be equally comfortable running a grievance investigation and supporting managers in business related activities.
You know how to balance employment law compliance and risk mitigation with the agility, speed, and continuous evolution of a high-growth tech environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations: Own workplace conflict, performance, disciplinary, and grievance cases across the region - investigating fairly, managing risk, and driving cases to a compliant and timely resolution.

  • Statutory Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with local labor law, working time regulations, compensation standards, and data privacy requirements across all six countries.

  • Policy Management: Own and evolve HR policies, employee handbooks, and SOPs - ensuring they reflect current law, scalable practices, and are usable by managers day-to-day.

  • Risk Mitigation: Run regular compliance audits and train managers on lawful hiring, termination, and everyday people-management practices.

  • Work Council Ownership: Act as the primary point of contact for works councils - preparing materials, running consultations, and managing the relationships. (Currently not active).

  • HRBP (c. 40%): Provide day-to-day People Business Partnering to an assigned set of groups - coaching managers, supporting workforce planning, and partnering on performance and talent conversations.

  • Partner cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders including Legal, Security, Finance, and People teams (Talent Acquisition, Total Reward, and L&D) to ensure joined-up support for the business and consistent application of policy.

Requirements:

  • Fluent English is a must, plus French (spoken and written) is highly preferred

  • Solid multi-country ER and employment law experience across at least several of: UK, France, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Switzerland.

  • 4+ years of relevant international HR Business Partner experience, supporting a variety of departments, especially Sales.

  • Experience managing works council relationships.

  • Strong compliance/statutory background - comfortable auditing, interpreting local law, and translating it into practical guidance for managers.

  • Structured and highly organised - able to manage a caseload and compliance calendar across multiple jurisdictions at once.

  • Independent and self-directed - able to move ER cases and projects forward without heavy oversight.

  • Collaborative - works effectively with People Partners, Legal, and local leadership; strong stakeholder management.

  • Commercial fluency - understands how a sales-driven, target-led business operates and can adapt HR approach accordingly.

  • Adaptability & Agility - comfortable operating in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment; able to navigate ambiguity, pivot quickly, and deliver pragmatic HR solutions without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.

  • Prior experience in a SaaS or tech environment is a plus.

What monday.com can offer you:

  • Join a customer-obsessed team where transparency and ownership are how we actually operate - not just things we put on a wall
