About incident.io

incident.io is the leading AI incident response platform, built to help teams dramatically reduce incident response time and improve reliability. We bring together on-call, incident response, AI SRE, and status pages in a single platform, giving teams everything they need to respond quickly, reduce downtime, and keep customers in the loop.

Since launching in 2021, we’ve helped over 1,500 companies, including Netflix, Airbnb, and Block, run more than 500,000 incidents. Every month, tens of thousands of responders across Engineering, Product, and Support use incident.io to restore services faster, stay aligned under pressure, and focus on building what matters.

We’re a fast-growing, highly ambitious team that cares deeply about our customers, product quality, and making it magic. We’ve raised $100M from Index Ventures, Insight Partners, and Point Nine, alongside founders and executives from world-class technology companies.

The role in one line

Own and continuously improve the operational foundations that make our People team exceptional.

What you’ll be doing:

This is a People Operations role for someone who loves making things work better.

You’ll own the operational foundations that keep the People team running smoothly, from onboarding and payroll through to HR systems, policies, compliance, and employee processes. We’re looking for someone who is excited by AI and automation, who spots a manual process and immediately starts thinking how to eliminate it, and who wants to play a role in shaping what it means to be a best-in-class People Ops team.

You’ll join a growing company where many processes already exist, but still need refinement, simplification, and better tooling behind them. You’ll sit within our People team, working closely with TechOps and our Applied AI team to take operational ownership of recurring processes while continuously improving how they work.

We care much more about curiosity, problem-solving, and operational thinking than traditional HR credentials. We’re particularly interested in people who thrive in modern tech environments and are excited by the idea of building a highly-leveraged People function.

What brilliant looks like
  • You’re excited by AI tooling and constantly experimenting with ways to improve how work gets done

  • You naturally spot inefficient workflows and instinctively think about how to automate or redesign them

  • You’re highly organised and operationally excellent without becoming overly process-heavy

  • You move quickly, take ownership, and are comfortable figuring things out without lots of structure

  • You care about employee experience and operational quality in equal measure

  • You communicate clearly and build trust easily across teams

  • You enjoy working in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve regularly

  • You’re pragmatic - you know when something needs a scalable long-term solution versus a fast short-term fix

What the job actually involves

You'll be based in our London office. Here's the kind of thing you'll be doing day to day:

  • Running onboarding and offboarding processes and making them feel seamless for employees

  • Managing HR systems, employee records, policies, and operational People processes across tools including Hibob, Lattice, Carta, Zinc, DocuSign, amongst others

  • Taking full People-side ownership of payroll: coordinating pay run summaries, flagging salary changes, new joiners, commission, bonuses, and other adjustments

  • Supporting contract changes, options administration, compliance tasks, and general UK People administration

  • Identifying repetitive manual work and redesigning workflows using AI, automation, and modern tooling

  • Improving the systems and processes behind the People team so they scale cleanly as we grow

  • Building operational documentation, templates, and internal resources

  • Owning recurring operational tasks while continuously improving speed, quality, and efficiency

  • Partnering with the wider People team to make sure our foundations are reliable, scalable, and employee-friendly

The profile we're looking for

We think this role will suit someone who has worked in a fast-moving tech or scale-up environment and enjoys building operational systems that help companies scale.

You probably:

  • Love organisation, systems, and making messy processes simpler

  • Have strong operational judgment and exceptional attention to detail

  • Are naturally curious about AI and automation tools and can point to real examples of how you've used them to improve how you work

  • Enjoy finding smarter, faster ways of working

  • Are proactive and comfortable working independently

  • Prefer modern, high-ownership environments over highly corporate ones

  • Care about doing thoughtful, high-quality work without overcomplicating things

What we offer:

We’re building a place where great people can do their best work—and that means looking after you and your family with benefits that support health and personal growth.

  • Market leading private medical insurance

  • Generous parental leave

  • First Friday of the month off

  • Generous annual leave/PTO allowance

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • Remote working and personal development budget

  • Enhanced pension/401k
